Covenant Remnant Forces

I’m hoping the Covenant will somehow play a role… I don’t want them to be completely wiped out… rather than fighting Forerunners, Precursors, and Flood the whole game. I really don’t like where the story is turning, it’s too different from the Halo we already know. Discuss.

Well the Covenant have already been confirmed by Franky. He said that they will be politically changed, but will not be our biggest worry.

It’s been confirmed that they’re in the game…

yes ima -Yoink- on them

It could be just the Elites as allies…?
I’d say there will be a mix of enemies and then they’ll all come in at the end and everyone’s fighting each other like the usual.

You don’t even know who the new enemy/enemies are you fool! You have no idea where the story is going either…

Scroll down about three quarters of the way.

Thanks, guys, I’m not in the loop of things, really, Battlefield and Mass Effect have taken their toll…

So much for “Finishing the Fight!” eh? I don’t see why they are necessary to be honest. If all of the races are present and united under a common banner, I’ll call BS, especially if Brutes and Elites are there because isolation is the perfect reason for those two to fight. What they should do is allow you to ally with the faction to survive God knows what on the Legendary Planet.

It’s been over 10 years of fighting these guys, give it up already.

Negative. If we’ve stopped fighting the Covies, they might as well stop making Halo. It’s not enough for 10 years. At least have them in a few missions…

Pretty shallow and short-sighted mindset there. Do you expect Covenant fights for the rest of the trilogy then, never giving the “new” enemy time to grow and be put into the spotlight as the definitive enemy?

I agree with this entirely. To be honest, I found the Flood a much more interesting enemy, because I am, personally, a huge fan of story, and story-driven games. Fighting the Flood was interesting because I enjoyed learning tiny tidbits about the beginnings of the Flood and how they work. Reading Primordium was a field day lawl. But to me, the Covenant are decent enemies, it’s just that they’ve been fleshed out a lot. This new enemy intrigues me, because I have a sinking suspicion that it ISN’T the Precursors. Though, if it is, I’d be fine with that :D.

But, to sum this up, I think we need the new enemies more than we need the Covenant. It’s getting old mowing down Elites/Brutes. Gimme sumpin new.
