After watching a lot of videos there is one thing that I haven’t seen yet, the Covenant primary automatic weapon. Can we expect to see both the Plasma Rifle AND the Plasma Repeater again? Will it be one or the other? Or will we see something entirely new?
Both of those weapons have been confirmed that they are NOT returning.
My money is on the Storm Rifle being the new primary.

I’ll be honest with you, I don’t have the source anymore, this was confirmed a while back. There were many threads about it even a month ago.

The PR and PRi are not returning.
The SR in its current state acts like the MA5B, but with Covenant flare.
If you attempt to spray and pray with the SR, it will only work for maybe one kill, if that.
It will be sloppy fullauto spray, and it has to be in very short range to do this.
However, if one were to burst the SR according to range, the weapon contains its spread and takes longer to overheat.
This action allows the SR to very much act like an MA5B from Halo: CE because it takes much longer to overheat and maintains a sloppy containment of bullets that works in very large dosages up to midrange, something the MA5B was great for.

Thats it!? I’ve watched that footage at least 100 times since it was released and I never fully understood what that gun was! From the angle we see it at in the footage it has a large (screen?) facing the player that turns orange as it shoots (which I now realize is the overheating) and that orange is normally what caught my eye, making me think it was a Forerunner weapon. The rounds fired don’t look as much like the traditional plasma rounds that have been in previous Covenant weapons, so that also led me to believe it was a forerunner weapon. At first glance it didn’t look anything like the picture 343 has provided us with but after a second look I see the resemblance. That gun looks very cool and I’m excited to try it out
