That could be true but then again it doesn’t sound too probable considering if they can’t breathe oxygen and they don’t have a gas mask, they’ll still be inhaling oxygen either way.

Yes, they may have gas masks but maybe there’s a chance that somewhere in the Halo 4 campaign we will be on a covenant planet and not just requiem considering they were showing a grunt without their mask.
I presume the picture of the grunt without a gas mask is what he looks like without one (you can shoot it off) and remember that its not actually in the game, it’s just being rendered using the games graphics engine. While the grunt we see in the game is wearing a gas mask

You can see Grunts without they’re masks in Halo 3 and Reach and you didn’t go to a Covenant planet in either of those. They probably just showed his without his mask so you can get a good look at thier new faces.

That’s a good theory but why would they render a grunt without their mask standing up. He’s not dead in the picture. They could render a grunt like this for no reason but that doesn’t sound probable. I still think that this hints to us seeing a covenant planet.

You can shoot the mask of a Grunt in both Halo 3 and Reach and he can survive.

they close their mouths and breathe through their nose

A few things here:
Only Unggoy do not breathe oxygen- It’s hardly a majority.
Why would they have any reason to visit any home planet outside of Earth or Sanghelios? Unless you crash land on Balaho, etc. AFTER escaping Requiem, I doubt there will be any visiting the other species’ homes.
Sanghelios is the most likely contender of an alien planet to be visited- but I suspect that will be in Halo 5. Quelling some massive civil war or some such, as hinted in Glasslands. Or defending against the ancient threat. So long as we meet the Arbiter again in 4 or 5 I’ll be happy. I would definitely think it’s more likely to happen in 5 as so far there is a subtle emphasis on humans for Halo 4.
I think John will be solely sticking to Requiem for the Campaign of Halo 4. But having said that, I do think that our Spartan-IV’s will be visiting other locations such as other Covenant planets in Spartan Ops.
