so me and my friends were playing halo 2 anniversary and we wondered why the heretic banshee isn’t already req as it looks absolutely AWESOME and we also thought it would be awesome to see ghosts and wraiths with the same design similar to the recently released temple vehicle set i decided to make this post to see if anyone else agreed with me and hopefully one day in the future we could maybe see this set in the battlefield. if you agree just leave a reply and hopefully get this some attention.

I completely agree, I’d love to see heretic vehicles, back in Halo 2 I always tried spawning the heretic banshee on the final level to kick tatarus’ -Yoink- with, sometimes I failed because I wasn’t quite sure how I made it spawn but now I know, it just had a certain special look to it, and getting it into that last room to kill tatarus just made me feel like a total badass, what difference would it have compared to other banshees though? Apart from looks, we got one with increased armour, one with increased damage and one where you can shoot while boosting
I think the problem with adding the Type-26A (CE, 2, 3, H2A, ODST), Type-26B(Reach, CEA, 4, H2A MP), Type-26AZ (H2/H2A Heretic), and Type-26BZ (H2A MP Heretic) Banshees is that they’d barely stand a chance against the new Type-54 that is currently in the game. The older variants had no shields. In addition to that, I’m pretty sure Halo 5 has more weapons that are capable of destroying vehicles than previous games. We have the Hydra, M57 PILUM Rocket Launcher, M41 SPNKr Rocket Launcher, Talon of The lost (anti-armor Needler), Railgun, Plasma Caster, Spartan Laser, Rocket Pod Turret, and Gauss Turret plus all of their variations, and don’t forget about Kinetic Bolt loadout weapons. Compare it to previous games, where anti-vehicle was mostly the Rocket Launcher and Splaser, the Missile Pod from 3, the Warthog-mounted Gauss cannon, and the mounted Rocket Turrets. There’s also the various Scorpion variants that would tear them to pieces and the Phaeton Helios. The only place I see them working is maybe Big Team Battle.

i see your point but they could be updated and play a counter part to these new weapons but i still think it could bring something new to the game and these vehicle’s are not made to be invincible they will get destroyed like every other vehicle in the game we all know the pain and envy of spawning a banshee and instantly being shot down by a rocket launcher or scorpion. also its not all about the vehicle’s being amazingly powerful its also about bringing something new and fun to the game and it will give people a ambition to play the game like when the hannibals came out i mean come on who doesn’t really want a hannibal scorpion and Mantis to dominate the battlefield everybody knows the feeling of driving out of the bay if they could give that feeling to the heretic vehicle’s then you would not need to worry about those weapons.

I figure they could work in Warzone if they were placed at REQ level 5, where they’d be less vulnerable.

True but perhaps as a method of balancing could be the 26A having the most armour of all banshees, even higher than the banshee ultra/temple but, terrible mobility (stunts) and the slowest flight, slightly faster recharge of the bomb to normal banshees. It’s main disadvantage is the the pilots feet are in fact visible, and the fact dodging shots will be hard. Good pilots would choose this over others because of its armour and slightly higher damage output. And if they are good pilots then they still stay mobile enough to avoid damage.
26B would have the highest speed and lowest armour (not by much), with such high mobility they’re a hard target in the sky.
Both banshees should be updated with weak shields. If you want to look at things from a lore stand point resources such a weapons and vehicles are scattered and rather than taken them apart to build new ones which can cost more (time and fuel/energy) so they hold onto what they have especially in a universe full of distrust and resentment.
For the heretic banshees they’re just reskins of them or function like a sword vehicle (slight buff to armour)
