covenant design change

is there a canon reason for how the covenant races have a different look from game to game.

Most likely just graphical update.

P.S. Why are making separate threads, why not make one thread with all your questions?

I would say it’s just a combination of technical and stylistic choices.

I don’t think the differences pose any real problems.

Well the armor could look different (less armor for elites, black armor for wraiths and ghosts) because the faction of Covenant in 4 is The Storm. They’re religious zealots lead by Jul 'Mdama and had splintered off from the Covenanat before the Great Schism. But yeah its more likely due to graphic updates as far as the “anatomy” of the species.

I really don’t see how a graphical update means that the Grunts and Jackal are unrecognizable without their armor.

Halo: CE’s MA5B to Halo Wars’ MA5B is an example of a graphical update. Halo 3’s Jackals and Grunts to Halo: Reach’s is an example of a graphical update. Halo 4 does a complete overhaul that goes far beyond the excuse of “Oh, it’s just better graphics,”.
