Covenant Carbine seem a bit underpowered?

Okay so the first gun I unlocked on release was the carbine as I loved it on Halo 3. I used it for about 10-15 levels whilst playing infinity slayer until I just couldn’t take it anymore. It seems to take too long to drop someone despite the high fire rate. I feel the only way to use it effectively is to basically steal kills with just feels cheap.

Does anyone feel the same?

Compared to the BR and DMR it definitely is lacking in the power department. I thought the ROF would offset it, but it does not seem to help.

I’d never use it as part of a loadout, but it makes a great weapon to use as suppressing fire if your out of ammo on your secondary and find it on the ground. I usually pick it up to save rounds on my BR and use it to partially down some shields or hold someone off until i can find a corner to reload my main weapon or recharge my shields.

I’ve found myself in close to middle range easily winning gunfights against opponents using Battlerifles, DMRs, etc with the Carbine. Its power is lesser than those other weapons, yes, but its strength lies in the rate of fire. It’s certainly more tricky to use, and requires you to be precise and have a feel for its rate of fire, but the results are worth it, in my opinion.

The Carbine is weak sauce. BR and the Light Rifle are the way to go no doubt.

I do find they put the power to ROF slightly off, it needs to be more powerful with possibly a slower ROF. I do find it brilliant at suroressive fire though.

Hard to say for me. Outside of Mid range it appears to have problems. But when i’ve engaged others in close range and mid range with it, i’ve overcome BR’s and DMR’s.

Might need a slight damage buff, but atleast to me it does it’s job.
