Covenant augmentation

We know that sangheili and grunts used various stimulants to enhance their own fighting qualities. Thus, we know that not only prelates are reinforced Covenant soldiers.
Maybe someone heard or received a hint about some kind of military stimulants, augmentations, or has the strength and time to find them? It would be interesting to see augmentations beyond prelates.

There’s a pretty big difference between giving a soldier stimulants and biologically enhancing them. For example, the -Yoink!-’s gave some of their soldiers methamphetamine during WW2, which has been attributed to the success of the blitzkrieg when Germany was expanding its influence in the mid to late 1930s. The US experimented with PCP during the Vietnam War, if I recall correctly. There are numerous other examples of providing stimulants to soldiers to make them more effective on the battlefield.

My point is that using stimulants to improve battlefield effectiveness is not new. And we don’t consider any of those things to be augmentations. So while the Covenant probably did give stimulants to certain soldiers, that wouldn’t be on the level of the actual augmentations received by the Prelates. As for lore, I don’t know of any other augmentation programs within the Covenant, and I don’t think there were any. Tbh, besides the weak San’Shyuum, there really isn’t a need for programs like that within the Covenant. They have massive ape/bears, athletic dinosaurs, and walking tanks. The need to augment any of those things beyond how they exist naturally seems unnecessary.

Do you think Stolt was enhanced? He is really tough, I wonder if that is what a Grunt is like when not under the Covenants yolk or if he is an outlier; or maybe a ‘guinea pig’ for the initial phase of the program that made the Prelates.

I agree, that’s why I hate the retcon that Elite harnesses enhance their attributes, I liked it when the difference was just shield strength.

This is actually good, as the elites have some really powerful feats without armor, which with the addition of armor would make these specific elites even stronger. On the other hand, this made the spread among the elites even greater, since the exploits in the armor make some elites weaker, but nevertheless this allows us to explain some very large exploits, as well as add strength to already powerful elites.
It would be interesting to add the possibility of increasing strength precisely to new models of armor of the elites, which appeared already towards the end of the war. In any case, I would be interested to see the armor of the elites, which would have a built-in life support function, and also pump the body of the owner with stimulants and regenerators. This would allow many elites to justify their code of honor.
It is desirable that this applies to armor created in the middle or end of the war and not widely used.
Yapyap used drugs prohibited by the Covenant to enhance the morale and skills of his subordinates. At least this is partly a canon.

I wasn’t even aware of that retcon… and I certainly don’t like the idea that the Covenant have some form of power armor either. One of the things that made the Covenant so intimidating was that their primary warriors, the Elites, were just so naturally powerful. An un-augmented Sangheili is comparable to a Spartan. The need for power armor makes them seem so much less impressive under those circumstances.

As for Stolt, I don’t think so. I think he was just an exceptionally talented and strong Grunt with what a buddy of mine in the Army refers to as the “not gonna die” mentality.

“The Elite combat harness is the standard armour used by the Sangheili in all Covenant conflicts. Similar to the Spartans’ Mark VI in that it boosts speed and strength while adding a personal energy shield, the armour is actually less advanced and can withstand less damage than a Spartans’ armour.”

That is, it increases strength much less than Mjolnir.

I can see the enhancement from the armour being a sort of ironic thing, like the Prophets names vs their actions; ya know the Elites not being so elite because they use enhancing armour, shielding, camouflage, glassing groups they cant defeat with troops (they had to threaten the Grunts with genocide during the rebellion).

Elites in Halo 4 have no armor boost. Arbiter does not have armor boost.
