I heard and saw proves, that the Prometheans and the Covenant are allys (in some shown situations).
I don’t think it is good for the campaign (may be for SpartanOperations). I hope that they are enemys in the campaign.
What was more fun in Halo CE than watching how the Flood and the Covenant killed each other. 8D
Or if you think: “Meh… this takes to long for me” → you attacked both.
Are there any proves out, that they are enemys in some situations?
If not there can be this thing in the storyline:
Covenant found didact’s promethean control station. Didact is the good guy. (In a halo cea terminal was also said (dont remember which one now): “if our weapons will end in the wrong hands…”)
So may be: the covenant is more the real antagonist than the forerunners or the didact.
~> not a good speculation - but still possible // at least for the end of H4 and the start of SOps
→ like MC kills didact and then covenant gets prometheans (also possible)
The covenant has spent thousands of years worshipping the forerunners. When they finally meet their gods, the first thing they get is a disintegrator-beam to the face. I don’t think that reeks of friendliness
'Cause current views on Halo 4 campaign shows that the Prometheans are engaging all foreign species on the planet.
An Elite is desintegrated. There is a scene showing a Promethean Knight smashing an Elite into the grouns.
The Covenant are confirmed to be the side enemy. They are not the main enemy, nor the main bad guys anymore. They do not fit “an ancient evil awakens”.
One thing I forgot to mention is that the Covenant need humans to run the forerunner facilities. So it would be hard for me to believe that they would work together.

Yeah, that pretty much means that the Covenant might start trying to kill any Forerunner, Promethean A.I’s for example, rather than try to praise them if they hear about the Elite and possible other Covenant that was deeper into the forest that the Master Chief didn’t encounter in any way got disintergrated due to the Prometheans.
I think hes talking about the Spartan ops gameplay where the two were in the same area.But that dosent mean they`re on the same side. Just the same place.
