So, in my mission 4 struggle, I am noticing that the covenant Mega turret can fire on things that the AI shouldn’t be able to see if they play by the same rules you do (and they should because how unfair would it be if they didn’t, RIGHT???).
So so can the Couvenant see all the map all the time? No fog of war for them?
Also other question, can the mega turret take out air units? It shouldn’t be able to seeing as how it’s a surface to surface weapon but I swear it takes out my hornets sometimes.

I don’t have Halo Wars 2, yet. How far are your units from the cannon? If it’s getting you from across the map, then it’s probably a bug.

All the way at the east base (one below subway exit) when no covenant are present there to eliminate their fog of war if that’s even a factor for them. And where cargo 3 used to be (when I have some red health units I need to heal there and nobody else around. I know this mission 4 legendary is probably the hardest (and luck based) thing mankind has created but still it shouldn’t be this cheap.

I know you don’t have the game but I still appreciate the fact you are at least here, responding. Trying in some way or another to help me out. If you could get more people that might know this stuff here that would be Amasing. The more knowledge I accumulate about this god forsaken mission the faster I can get gold on it, put it on YouTube, and move on.

Yeah, it isn’t. But it is, well, this mission anyway. Ask around, you’ll understand better the more people you talk to. And/or get the game. It’s Awesome except for this mission I swear XD

The ONLY way I’m able to spend 24+hours on this mission is because I love the game so much.
I’m planning to get the Halo Wars 2 Ultimate Edition when it comes out. That one has both games and all the DLC. I’m sure it’s a good game, as most Halo games are.

As I recall, in Halo Wars, the AI is not omniscience and cannot (has been restricted) to the same abilities as a player. This is 100% true for matchmaking against an A.I.
So… Generally the A.I. can only see what is ‘on-screen in their vision circle’, must observe units to issue orders to them, cannot control and issue commands to multiple units/groups simultaneously… etc.

However, during campaign, special abilities may be scripted in order to prompt action from the human player. In order to prompt you to complete your objectives, the enemy AI may have better Line of Sight with the Mega turret than you do.

So you’re saying that no matter what I do the mega turret doesen’t give a damn and shoots at what ever it wants where ever it wants to shoot at where ever it is? If so this is one of the defining reasons why mission 4 is entirely luck based. No matter how far you get if it decides to shoot your hornets and you loose more than two the entire mission you can NOT get gold.

That’s possible. I haven’t played the campaign in quite some time. Gold is supposed to be a challenge… Just keep your hornets moving. Don’t keep them sitting. Have them constantly microed.
