Counter Assassinations!

Think about it. What if people who had quick reflexes could start rapidly tapping the melee button to counter the assassination, it might not work but honestly, it would be great thing for Machinima. I think it could work. I personally think that when you get assassinated you’re a bit too helpless.

I agree with the machinima concept but it wouldn’t work in other situations. It would probably be another “slows down gameplay” concepts.

No, if you get assassinated, it’s your own fault. You’ll just have to get a teammate to help you out. This isn’t a fighting game.

Assassin’s Creed Multiplayer my friend… Counter-assassinations don’t even work well in the AC games.

No if I got behind you, you should have to suffer the consequence of seeing my knife in your neck.

Should you be able to counter a beat-down assassination? NO!

So why would you do it to the animation? Thats the whole point of assassinations…you get to kill the guy in a badass way at the others expense, end of story haha

If you could counter assassinations, then it would make them useless and unused. Why do something that can be countered when you can get the exact same result with a 100% success rate that also happens to be much faster?

No, you should not have let yourself get assassinated.

I say no, but that is because you will always have the people with very quick reflexes who can press a button way quicker than you ever could dream to. That’s why I don’t play Mario Party with my friends. The one who can press A the fastest wins. Point being, you assassinate one of these people and they will counter assassinate you every time and people will just quite doing the animations.

I’ll be pressing the ‘B’ button instead of holding it in future if my opponent is able to strike back at me during an assassination.

It’s a great idea and all but I’d HATE it so much. The whole point of an assassination is to be stealthy and be rewarded for it.

Rapidly tapping to accomplish anything is just stupid.

A player is already taking the risk of doing the assassination animation when they do it, if it could be countered then people would just stop doing assassinations all together.

It’s an interesting idea, I have to say, and I’ve thought about it before. Possibly have a very, very small window after the first hit where you press melee and your shields are broken, but you live. Or allow the assassin to have his own window that instantly kills upon pressing after you counter.

To be honest, in Reach whenever I was assassinated, I had a “Wait, what, hey!” moment of surprise the first few moments, so if the window took advantage of that, it could work well and still allow for many kills.

Why should they get a chance when they failed in checking their MT for a quarter of a second. It’s already so hard to get assassinations, being able to counter it would put a bullet in both knees then one in the head.
