Need some help guys, I just turned on my Xbox and started up halo 5 and I’ve been sitting for almost half an hour now waiting for a game to start on warzone. The same happened for arena as well. I assumed it was a problem with live but I still have almost two weeks of gold left, can anyone tell me why this is happening and how I can repair the issue

If you’re outside the US or EU it can be hard to find matches at certain times but peak you should be able to find Warzone or Arena Slayer matches.
It’s especially an issue if you’re not in the US but even here I have noticed that the games have been a bit slower to connect, but I’ve not waited nearly that long to get a match ever.
I stay in India and usually play around 10pm. Up till two days back, I didn’t have this problem except with swat ( I haven’t been able to play a single game of swat yet and it’s been almost a month since I started playing) . Now it seems that I cannot find any players for any playlist.
It’s the declining population. Happens to me too.
Thats a rather depressing revelation. I just hope I’ll still be able to play this game after a few months.

I think it’s just connection. Halo 5 was on the top 10 list and had beaten deatiny for a while 2 days ago.
could be the population has left the game and moved on lol i could not find any either

I honestly don’t know.
H5 population is in fact decliningI if you check out the population forum I believe that worked out that the average population is about 50,000. I may be off by a bit, but that’s still pretty bad.

Anyone outside of it can’t find a game. People in Aus and NZ generally have not played warzone assault in a few months for example, due to not finding a match, as there is no one in that region playing the playlist.
Arena and warzone for me take around 5 minutes average at peak times. Just because it works perfectly for you, it does not mean it’s the other player connection when they don’t find a game.
And I believe Halo 5 was only on the top 10 for a few days around the update, and I think it is off it now.

Yes this. People defending it by blaming it on the players connection are in denial.
I had the same thing this morning, reset my Xbone and it worked immediately. Ignore the population decline trolls.

With the February season they implemented some network changes that mean you’re more likely to connect with your local servers. They did this because EU players were complaining about bad latency ruining matches.
As a result if you search for games during off peak hours in a small community you are likely to face Unable to Match errors.
They will realise the error of their ways and it will either revert back to us playing on US servers or they will perform more tweaks. Nobody knows when but it will happen. How many of us are still around then is another question.
I got 11 matches in a 6 hour spell between 12-6am last night. The night before I gave up after an hour. I’m not going to bother trying tonight.

Wait until after 1am and then tell me it works fine.
Tbh,when I think of it I’ve never actually played warzone assault either even before the feb update. I decided to test my patience and waited a full hour but still no warzone assault, now even warzone takes 15 minutes or sometimes more compare to the 10 seconds pre update ( not counting intermission .
Same thing happened last night, but this time i restarted my Xbox and net and matches for warzone came back but arena was still a problem.
I guess as Cormac said, 343 is experimenting with local server connections. I sincerely hope this gets fixed soon before people leave matchmaking due to no games found.
