I’d just like to say that I am all for the new ranking system. It is a huge step forward compared to Halo 4 and Halo: Reach. I have seen a couple posts on here about people asking if K/D matters. My opinion:YES (In most cases).
I understand that there is a difference in people who play to win and get a good K/D and the others who just farm for it. W/L ratio is king and I am a true believer in that, but K/D does play a huge role in a lot of matches. All I am suggesting is a personal skill rank separate from the W/L rank that we will receive in Arena. Granted, I believe that game types like KOTH and CTF should have different variables related to the objective of the game along with the K/D/A quantities that you would see in Slayer.
Basically what I am asking for is this, a number rank that lets other people know how effective I am as a single person. A simple 1-100 would suite this purpose just fine. (1)One being on the low end(bad) and (100)one-hundred being on the high end(good).
Like I said before, the ranking system is fine as it is. I simply believe that adding more factors(Stat wise) via a personal rank could make this game even more competitive especially among friends. Any thoughts on this?
I think KD does effect your rank. You only gain points by winning and lose points by losing. In the beta you could gain/lose anywhere from 0 to 30 rank points, depending on your performance. But performance was very much over shadowed by what your teams rank was compared to the enemy.

That’s nothing more than an excuse. For every match where your team is worse, on the average, there’s a match where the opposing team is worse. There’s no such thing in the matchmaking system as “always put the good player on the bad team”. The problem of rating players has been studied long enough that these days any system will give every player the rating they deserve. Whatever you want to believe, the math is solid.

Not a bad idea, I also think you should be able to select which play style is your strong suit so your teammates will know if you are a slayer, objective, support, utility, etc. This would help me because then it would allow me to have a better idea of what my teammates are likely to do. Will they push flag? Or sit back and cover with snipe? That would then allow me to change up the way I play. Just a thought.

The math is null if pre-made teams can match solo searchers. The math is not solid in MCC for example. Let’s hope that’s not the case in H5.
If K/D has it’s own representation as a “rank” it will deter gamers from teamwork and promote justification for selfish gameplay. W/L gives the best account for how well a player plays with others. If you’re playing with other in a team-oriented sense your k/d will take care of itself. K/D is a virtually a worthless stat. Please understand what virtually means.
