I think it would be cool, in the next update, if 343 is actually doing one because its been more than three months, to have a promethean ground vehicle that has a high damage splinter turret cannon for its main and its turret would be sort of like a super surpressor
I think it would be cooler if it had an incineration cannon esque mortar (with charged and non-charged shots) and a trebuchet that launched groups of crawlers. Ooh and the sides could be covered with the Knight blades so in order to hijack it you would have to slide under it in order to get the “press x” to hijack message.
I would be cool if we got a promethean tank. I think of these types of images when I think of promethean tank.
Actually, this may be a little unrelated at first but bear with me. In halo 2, bungie originally had a level called “forerunner tank” while being developed. It was obviously cut. Now, since other cut content such as the mongoose made it into later games (mongoose cut from halo 2, put into 3) perhaps 343 could use the cut “forerunner tank” as a basis from an ideas perspective, and turn it into a promethean ground vehicle.
If thats no possible, then my idea would be like this: Sleek look, low profile. An integrated incinerator cannon (like the classic halo style wraith cannon that opens when first entered) for the pilot (or perhaps a single shot heavy variant of the phaeton rocket style attack), and the gunner would have a slow firing splinter turret (for balance reasons) or rapid fire suppressor style weapon. It will then boost like a wraith, but have a shorter teleport affect than the phaeton (for looks purposes, can still be shot). A lot of the phaeton textures/art style would fit great on this vehicle I’d think.
I doubt they would out that much effort though, as I assume 343 would be busy in dev time for Halo 6, and may even be making a “forerunner tank” for that.
I think they should take a look at the concept art for Halo 2, it was supposed to have a Forerunner tank but was cut.

Better than a catapult
Thanks for this thread. It’s given me some ideas for a Forerunner tank for my “How to Make the Prometheans Fun to Fight” thread.
Manticore: A Forerunner tank that fires an orange ball of hard light that resembles a fireball. The projectile moves slower than a Scorpion shell and much faster than a Wraith mortar, but is more powerful than a Scorpion. If the shoot button (RT) is held for 2 seconds, the projectile gains the ability to track its target, but it loses some velocity and damage. The tank can hold 2 passengers along with the driver. The 2 passengers are each given a turret that fires like the primary firing mode of the incineration cannon (the firing mode introduced in halo 5). These turrets would be different from the incineration cannons because they’d only fire 1 projectile instead of 2 per trigger pull, they’d have a much faster RoF, and they wouldn’t arc (so they’d move in a straight line).
I’ve wanted a Forerunner tank for awhile.
So was thinking, if not a forerunner tank of its own design, what about a Scorpion variant that fires Incinerator Cannon rounds like that of the River of Light.

That level was supposed to take place in the tank, it would have been enormous. I doubt they could use that. I do kinda like comedyshermits idea of knightblades on the side because I can imagine them rising up and down like those fin strip thingys on deep sea jellyfish or something

I don’t believe they meant the tank was going to be huge, just the mission, however I do agree with the Knight blades, personally I would really like a War Sphinx (obvious size reduction though)

It would be cool if it had a large mortar like incineration cannon, two suppressor turrets on the sides for teammates and a thrust despite being slow. Or they could just make a forerunner variant of the scorpion tha looks different and has a giant binary rifle instead of a cannon.
Will it be able to teleport?

Seems pretty legit idea. I could see the projectile ball operating the same way as Warden Eternal’s gravity bomb. If not that, maybe a larger version of the sentinel beam or Z-510 Directed Energy Focus Weapon (beam turret).
I did see some concept art recently, that could work. But will have to see.

Would be awesome the promethians in H5 are a little lacking except the phaetons they are sweet
I love that idea but I would love it if there were just more vehicles in general, mainly for the Prometheans!
Just thinking about what they could do it in terms of aesthetics is making me happy. I would definitely welcome it.
If they don’t do it as part of another update for H5, I could definitely see it as part of a whole faction for H6. Cortana having her own army that she could deploy, prior to using the Guardians or as part of mop up operations.
I could also see it where Cortana comes across the Banished and offers them a means to fight again and provides that means through upgraded vehicles.
Sounds good. Like the one poster said. Teleport instead of boost:)

would be cool to drive one, but to figth no that much.
