Could we be fighting innies in the reclaimer trilogy?

For some reason, I for some reason think that somewhere in the reclaimer trilogy we may fight innies. I say the reclaimer trilogy because I believe the only returning foe in halo 4 may be your common sentinel.

Although if by halo 5 the chief returns from the mysterious shield world he is going to, I speculate innies may be one of the foes fought. Innies only ceased aggression due to the covies (and even then still had possible attacks as late as the events of reach) and now the covies are out of the picture, they may very well resume their terrorism to bring down the UNSC.

Do you think this could be possible?

ahhh im moving to the halo 4 forum lol

Just requested it be moved.

Good topic, wrong forum.

I could possibly see the innes becoming a side enemy in the Reclaimer trilogy.

They may not be the main enemy but its could be like in past games where there are mulitple sides.

Well i would suspect that if they went that route it would be a minor occurence or 343i would have to add variety to the innies. (somehow give them power armour)

Because of the spartan 4 program and the MKVII Mljonir amrour, its possible to use normal people, so it wouldnt be out of line to say that the innies stole some)I could be mistaken but… lets say that time spent in the shield world goes by slower compared to normal space. That time difference could mean the advancement of the human race after they have researdched forerunner tech (reclaimed tech)

This is even more possible with Halsey researching forerunner tech gathered from Trevelyan

Sorry about that, I thought this wasn’t talking about halo 4 enough since innies if planned would probably not be seen in halo 4.

Not a problem. Halo 4 is going to start the Reclaimer trilogy so the trilogy pretty much lumps together.

Even so, the enemy type isn’t known yet anyway aside from the teasing that it’s “an ancient foe but not The Flood”.

am i the only one that read “innie” and only thought of belly buttons?

…yes? okay then. carry on.

I did about 13 double takes when reading it.

I didn’t want to say anything LOL

How the hell did this thread get 32 views and 0 replies? Insurrectionists being an additional enemy is exactly the sort of thing Halo 4 needs - a complex storyline, not just the black-and-white of the UNSC vs the evil murdering space aliens and the creepy-looking space zombies.

Halo has generally stayed away from having humans as an enemy. There were the occasional “wacked out” marines like in Halo’s CE, 3 and Reach that you either do or do not shoot depending on your morals and thought process (I always kill those marines because I figure that they’d be better off dead than insane weeping in a corner, I kill them to help them . . . ironically). Still, those weren’t enemies.

Now . . . people kill marines anyway (something that actually ticks me off) so I don’t see a problem with adding an enemy human faction, however as of now we don’t even know if the insurrectionists will be in Halo 4.

Black market in the future?

We would have to nerf their health.

I don’t know to be honest, I don’t think the insurrectionist will be stupid enough to damage humanity even further, and somehow I don;t suppose there will be only sentinels, Flood, definetly flood, since even the forerunners couldn’t defeat them ( BTW< where do the parasites come from in the first place, 343I we demand anwser) perhaps even covie loyalists, or remnants of them

> We would have to nerf their health.

This . . . its crazy that in every Halo (with the exception of Halo CE) the marines can actually take MORE punishment than the chief . . . unless their shot in the face.

Humans without MJOLNIR armor can be the new grunts of the series . . . if that is what 343i intends on doing.

Thank for the replies everyone.

But If you’ve read the latest books you’ll find there is a sort of black market out there, weather its the jackles trading with the innes or some sort of inside job.

I mean im not a story wrtier but there a ton of explanations for giving Insurectionalists power armour. BUT i have a feeling it wouldnt be nearly as fun killing aliens, so i think it would a be a very small thing to the side.

No.

Never underestimate humanity’s ability to do stupid things. You have to remember that there are still innies, post-war, that have an axe to grind with the UNSC, and they may figure that, given its weakened position, it would be the perfect time to get revenge, and to destabilise the organisation once and for all. Furthermore, there were many planets that the UNSC left behind, for whatever reason, and somehow, I doubt their surviving populations are going to be particularly trusting of the UNSC.

I seriously doubt that in Halo 4 we will fight Insurrectionists, but it could happen in the later games.

@govader
Why?

I mean in the course of the whole reclaimer trilogy, not in halo 4.

Um, to be honest I think the human race would come together slightly after a few years.
