Could Wall mounting/Cover system be in Halo 4?

I noticed this a while ago and haven’t really seen people talking about this exact section of video.

Could wall mounting be in Halo 4?

Am I just looking into this too much?

i just think that’s a guy reloading his BR while crouching near a wall,

but that’s just me

No, it looks like wall mounting, but then again this is a demo trailer of the game. It may not have it in the released game.

Oh if it is (which I highly doubt), expect there to be total chaos!

I didn’t hear what the guy in the video said, but it looks like the reloading mentioned above to me.

That exactly how it looks when you reload a br.

Let’s hope not, eh? Let’s just hope that character’s sprinting, but him having the gun in an upright position like that is mighty odd for someone sprinting… reloading then?

These kinds of covering mechanics are for one thing only: hunkering down. They don’t belong in Halo. If you’re getting shot at the answer isn’t to hide behind a wall, blind fire and hope he goes away. You either kill him, or get killed. The second option is a retreat, but that shouldn’t be made the #1 thing to do, nor should it be encouraged.

truth

better be anyway.

It could be. Will it? No, and it shouldn’t be.

I wonder why halo would ever need wall mounting. This should be very interesting to see how it works if implemented. It he’s not fully crouching nor standing up all the way. Oh God… lol

I would normally think that. I’m also sure many people would like to think that. The reason it has me curious is because it’s so hidden in the video. The whole clip is up for less than a half second towards the end of the video. If you really try and watch the clip the BR looks more like it’s coming out of an over the shoulder military covering stance into a fire stance. I also thought of the possibility of this being a perk. Instead of sprinting or jet packing or what have you… you could possibly choose a reflex ability and wall mount, mount jump and corner peek.

Like I said in the video I’m not sure if that’s what it is. I could be looking into it to far. And I don’t agree or disagree with wall mounting. I’d have to see how it works before I make a choice of whether or not it could be cool. I don’t really see it as a real game ruining thing as you can already duck and dodge. While you’re mounted you’re an easier target for nades and such. It could slow the game down but like I said… If it’s used as a “perk” then it would be fair as barly anyone would actually pick it over things like sprint.

I FOR 1 HOPE NOT!!! LOL

It’s probably either:

A) He didn’t have his BR out and was just then pulling it out.
B) He’s reloading while crouching.
C) He’s reloading while coming up a ramp.
D) He’s moving and reloading.
E) He landed after jumping while reloading.
F) Any of the above in combination.

I hope. I posted about this a while ago, but I didn’t know it was called wall mounting. Also if you could mound your turret. Like in gears when you rest your turret. That would be epic.

A) He has no secondary. Unless you can go at it straight fists. (plz let this happen)
B) He doesn’t look like he’s in a crouching or coming out of a crouching position. Their is a slight turn.(jerky turn movement)
C) I don’t think theirs a ramp and I don’t see any other parts of a reload. This is the most possible though out of all of your ideas.
D) He’s not upright at all. Nor is he crouched. He’s like in between standing(including movement standing) and crouching.
E) Nope. He’s moving to fast unless the game has no momentum speed.
F) Maybe. Maybe not.

I’ll go get the vid and just keep rewatching at the exact time. I’m telling you it’s a very odd animation.

Watch at 3:44 in HD. Link The guy also has a slight awkward head turn. idk looks a bit sketchy to me. It doesn’t look like natural Halo movement.

It’s the player reloading. He’s crouching which makes it look like he’s behind the wall, plus he’s still moving at the end of the video. The BR is raised at the right angle for a reload, one of his hands is down by his side and his head is looking down at where is hand is, meaning he’s looking at the clip like in most reload animations. Don’t worry guys, peering out from walls isn’t in this game.

Wow that is a good point and don’t flame me people but if the perks system is like the ability to wall mount and stuff I would not mind that at all cause its not game breaking or anything its just being able to take cover more effectivly.

Nope, very very likely just part of a cutscene.

I hope not. I don’t want this to become another lame shooter with chest-high walls and a boring system where you play cat and mouse behind these walls for what seems like 5 minutes.

Not to mention the Halo 4 shields…

Could be. I slowwed it down a bit more to get a closer look at it.

He’s not really in the crouch position. It’s more of a (for the lack of any other good references) I gotta take a poop position.
