There has been lots of talk about a new hero so do you think its possible that they’d kill off master chief in either halo 4 or 5? Maybe when Cortana goes rampant that John will die with her?
No. The new hero probably references to Spartan Ops. Makes sense, multiplayer is Spartan-IV training and the Spartan Ops is a mode with actual missions that tie in with Chief’s campaign.
I doubt that they would, but I suppose it’d be possible.
They mean there mite be new people that are on MC’s side and are important to the game. Not actually playing as them.
The new hero will be Admiral John S117 with MC as the black lion, and Onyx team as the various appendage lions.

I think it’s pretty safe to say that Master Chief won’t die until Halo 6 (if he will at all).
I think the new hero would be more of player 2 in the campaign. If Chief is going to die (and i mean die for good, not “die” like in Halo 3) then it would most likely be at the end of Halo 6 and preferably as a legendary ending, a bad -Yoink- one.
Like hes in an exploding ship and running to jump out and it looks like hes going to make it but right before he can jump out a piece of the roof falls down and lands in front of him, and then it shows him turn around and you see through the reflection of his visor a wall of flame speeding towards him, and then it shows the ship blow up completely. that would be bad -Yoink-.
A touch of OT, but remember when people thought that MC died at the end of H3? Yeah…
Not likely, Chief is Halo and Halo is Cheif, no other spartan or character could ever do the same job. The only way you’ll see Cheif die, is if Halo fails as an IP, even then he would just be MIA, not killed in a game.
