It’s safe to say that many aren’t blown away with the graphical presentation we saw during the gameplay demo for Infinite. Yeah, the gameplay trailer looks better, but not by much. I don’t think 343 is gonna be able to make the game look truly great by launch (4-5 months), but who knows. An interesting piece of info that has come out is that ray tracing will be added to the game in a post-launch update. This is a sliver of good news. It got me thinking, could there be further graphical updates and patches post-launch to make the game look truly great? I know this really shouldn’t happen, as the game should look great by the time it launches, but at least maybe this would be acceptable. It’s been confirmed that Infinite is a massive platform for Halo for the next 10 years, essentially MCC for the next gen. I think if they can add in ray tracing in an update even after the game has launched, I think they can make further upgrades and other good advancements in the graphics after the game comes out. Let’s hope for the best.
It’s confirmed that this is an old build, you can already see improvements in the 1 minute gamaplay trailer, so it’s fair to say it’ll look way better by the time it releases. But the ray tracing thing does scare me a bit…
Considering they are planning on using Infinite as a platform for 10+/- years then they better be including some major graphical overhauls.
We can only pray that the OG Xbox One will eventually become unsupported or “content limited.”
I think it’s very likely that this will happen if 343i hopes to fulfill their 10 year Halo Infinite promise.

Which begs the question why bother supporting the Xbox One at all? The bottle neck of Infinite’s core designs will be limited to what the base Xbox One can handle. If this is supposed to be the “last” big Halo title why is it being screwed out the door by being a middle gen title.

Great question. Also, why did Infinite need to be a launch title for the new console when it doesn’t even take advantage of what it has to offer? Ray tracing is going to be in an update next year. Honestly, so many of the games that were revealed were also playable on Xbox One hardware while the ones that are next-gen exclusive are coming out in 2021 or later.
As far as I’m concerned, the XSX might as well just come out later next year because none of the games require it until then.
No, there has to be an improvement in MANY senses (shadows, blood, lighting, textures) but it has to be released BEFORE the game, not after.
I want a complete and well-made game from the beginning.
Mass Effect Andromeda is fine now but at first it sucked and it was clearly a flop, I don’t want that for Halo.
Older build as other have said. Also “polishing” doesn’t take much time. Usually happens in the last few months/weeks before launch. It’ll be fine.
Not gonna lie, the graphics didn’t even seem impressive by standards from several years ago. The brute textures were atrocious. I like Halo’s gameplay, but the fact of the matter is that it’s gameplay from 2001 that gets minor updates to it. If they can’t manage to have phenomenal story telling with top of the line graphics then it’s a game selling on nostalgia and nothing really more.
I’m not really impressed by anything shown thus far. I guess if it’s for the OG Xbox One, then cool, but I wouldn’t care to get an Xbox Series X for the day one Xbox One games.
