Could the Promethean Soldier replace the Elite's?

Halo 5 has introduced a new Promethean Class: The Promethean Soldier, this new class seems different compared to its brethren, and seems to possess a level of sentience that the other Promethean’s don’t. This new class is roughly the same height as a Spartan IV, not only that but it has a humanoid figure,can speak English and unlike its brethren it actually has hands which could make it possible for it to hold a multitude of weapons and it wouldn’t be impossible for it to use Thruster or Ground Pound. So I believe 343 might be trying to set these characters up to become the Elites replacement in multiplayer, which could be interesting especially if they keep the disintegration effect for your multplayer character. Also they could make the Soldier unique in team play by making the lights in-between the gaps of the Soldier match the color of the team your on, and so forth. So the question now stands: Would the Promethean Soldier be a suitable replacement?

Would it be really cool? Yes.
Would it satisfy people who want playable elites? No.

I believe you can understand what I meant especially if you read the original post, I would appreciate if we stayed on topic.

No. No please no. I do not want this ugly, dull, dead-inside design become playable in multiplayer.

Honestly I wouldn’t have a problem if it were balanced. It just seems like if we ever get a option to play as something other than a Spartan it would be a Soldier, though it most likely be limited to Customs and certain game modes like the Elites were in Reach.
