So i was looking at the halo 5 teaser image thingy, and i couldn’t help but notice that the other spartan had a really female spartan look to it. i also noticed the ONI symbol on its chest, and the fact that it was carrying a Battle Rifle. however the real clincher for this theory is the fact that of all the colors this Spartans visor could be, it is, not only blue, but glowing blue, whereas Chief’s visor is not glowing at all, and the blue color is extremely close the blue color used for Cortana in Halo 4. So my theory is, Could the guardian either be Cortana Herself, a newer Cortana Model, previous model, or just something heavily (or at all) related with Cortana.

Probably not…but I would not say impossible. I’ve seen some other strong possibilities listed in other related threads, but we shall see…can’t wait!

And I think that the “Guardians” refers to the Mantle, not to one or two spartans.
“We are Forerunners, guardians of all that exists.” said by Didact when he speaks about the Mantle and humanity in the end of Halo 4.
