In halo 5 the first mission in the campaign if you play on heroic and you help an elite up the hill you get an achievement for it and if he survives he does something different in the campaign does anyone know?

Something later in the game? I dont know about that. But if you try to get the achievement and don’t shoot any covenant at that part of the level his cross hair turns green and he becomes an ally, him and his troops won’t shoot you as you charge the hill

Lore wise that particular Elite is the one who commands the Covenant forces at Sunaion later in the game. It doesn’t make a difference if you save his life or not.
Well, his name is Kitun 'Arach. Later in the campaign, he ends up dying in combat against his brother, Jacul 'Arach.
