Could Serina have put herself in stasis?

Spoiler alert of Saint’s testimony.

No really…stop reading if you do not want to be spoiled.

Ok…still here? Good…now at the end of Saint’s testimony Iona is put in stasis…could Serina gave done the same to herself knowing the long journey home would inevitably end in her rampancy mid trip and be dangerous to the sleeping crew? Thus waking in halo wars 2 with still years left before her demise?

I don’t know you but I’d like that. A lot. I would hate to lose her too.

It could be possible, but someone brought up in another thread that even Cortana, who had all of Halsey’s knowledge about AI’s, couldn’t manage to figure out how to completely shut herself down, so it’s unlikely that Serina could do it either.

No no no

Cortana had no choice but to stay awake. She was on the haft section of a ship in the middle of nowhere. If she shut herself down anything could have happened and she would have had no time to react.

Isn’t Serina in the same situation?

It is entirely possible and probable that Serina shut herself down for periods of time, to stave off rampancy, similar to how Mack and Loki would take turns controlling the JOTUNs on Harvest, to prevent going rampant.

Serina is on a WHOLE fully functioning ship…much less dangerous so she could have a contingency software to wake her in case of need which is much less imminent than on a broken frigate

No, Serina is in a functioning ship, filled with secondary systems that are able to monitor near objects and wake her up if something happened.

Cortana was in a broken ship that had no functionality whatsoever, not even sensors or weapons; she was the only system on charge of the ship and she had to take care of MC.

it is possible that cutter was flying the ship most of the time and she was in stasis but we do not know when the game takes place just that it takes place after the original halo wars.
