Well, from all my research on this topic, it seems there is no reliable fix, and no support forthcoming from 343, but here goes:
I upgraded (“upgraded”) to Xbox One for my birthday, being a longtime Halo fan but a slow adopter of new technology. One would hope that a year and a half after the game’s release that most issues would be ironed out, but I digress…
So I essentially bought an Xbox One to play Halo 5. That was two weeks ago and I have yet to play a single online, forge, or custom game of any kind. So that’s me nearly $300 poorer and not much to show for it.
In any case, here are the symptoms: Game starts up fine, connects to the lobby service, I see the message of the day, and all looks good. REQ packs can be bought and opened, solo campaign works great, but that’s where the game ends. That’s my Halo 5 experience.
So when I go to any matchmaking lobby, all I see are the red triangles of death and the cryptic message about my fireteam: “Could not find a server that was suitable for all members of your fireteam.”
If I go to forge or customs, it shows “Error retrieving data center connection quality information”, which I’m not even sure makes sense in English, much less as a reason to block local Forge or custom games…
If I go to the customs browser, I can see current games going on, and it dangles the prospect of joining in front of me, but it always errors out as soon as I try.
I’ve rebooted the Xbox and router more times than I can count. I’ve switched from wireless to ethernet and back, I’ve forced reconnections to the lobby service…all to no avail. I’ve trawled the forums, tried the solutions, and have yet to see any return for my efforts. Much more dismaying is the fact that 343 seems determined to ignore anyone with these issues…
I just want to play halo.
I spent almost $300 to play halo.
Halo won’t let me play halo.
Please help.
