I just read up some stuff about Lord Hood and what happened to him when the Guardians came, here’s the Wikipedia paragraph explaining what happened when Cortana used the Guardians.
> After a series of random slipspace jumps, the Prowler arrived on an uncharted planet, dubbed Rossbach’s World, where a cabin retreat was well stocked for their long stay. In the first few days after settling in with Orzel and Osman, Hood launched slipspace reconnaissance probes to pick up any new UNSC frequencies, only to hear Created broadcasts coming from the Sol system and a distress message from the UNSC Sentry of El Morro which the UNSC Infinity responded to. During the first week of their arrival, Lord Hood spent his nights on the cabin’s balcony watching the nearby forest glow due to a native bioluminescent fungus. He also began to drown his sorrows in liquor, convinced that their entire situation could have been avoided if he had prevented John-117 from returning to service following the events of July 2557. Osman tried to reassure him it was in fact the Chief who had disobeyed his orders and that he wasn’t at fault.[39]
Could we see him return, it says he feels guilty for what Chief did, maybe he wants to hunt him down and help him? What are yall’s thoughts? Any other old characters you would like to see?
I think it would be great to see a familiar face in Halo Infinite, and not one that 343 created, to show that they care more about classic Halo than most of us think. Also, Lord Hood should have already been in Halo 4 & 5 because he is important, being a fleet admiral and all, and has one of my favorite quotes, “One final effort is all that remains.”
It would be nice to see him return. He is an important character in the UNSC, and it would make since that he play a role in the conflict with the created

Yeah, I thought on that as soon as I posted it. Honestly, the Johnson voice was pretty spot on. It’d have obviously been ideal to have had David Scully back for the role, but the voice actor did it justice, and seeing as it was just a minor DLC role anyhow, I can’t really complain about it.
I liked Lord Hood more when his appearance was based on his voice actor (Ron Perlman), just as Buck and Dare were based on Nathan Fillion and Tricia Helfer respectively. I hope, if they ever bring him back, he returns with his appearance once again based on Perlman.

I actually thought Johnson sounded nothing like himself in Halo Wars 2. The funny thing is that I thought it was David Scully but he’d just lost his talent.
EDIT: Oh. Another point: Why would Hood feel guilty about the Master Chief going AWOL in Halo 5. The Master Chief didn’t actually do anything. He had no impact on Cortana’s actions at all. The Guardians were being activated in spite of the Chief’s actions, not because of them.

They are both certainly dead, no way Johnson survived. Guilty Spark may have had his mind transfered or something but I think not.

Lord Hood probably doesn’t know that, given that the Guardians attacked immediately after Locke rescued the Chief. Locke did not have enough time to report what happened to the Infinity/UNSC, therefore the last thing that Hood knows about Chief is that he beat up Locke at Meridian right before it was destroyed.

I’m actually ticked off that besides Arbiter, we never really got to see any returning characters in the newer Halo games. And Arbiter’s return wasn’t even all that. He deserved more screen time/gameplay than Locke tbh.
So 343 would pleasantly surprise me if they happened to bring characters like Rtas Vadum or Lord Hood back into Infinite.
I just realized hood hadn’t died yet. I’d love to see him return! I’ve also heard it’s possible Johnson could’ve survived the events of halo 3, he’s one of my favorite characters in the haloverse and had some of the best one liners that were better than chiefs. He is loved by the community and if he did I fact survive the halo ring, I would be so happy to see him return.

In terms of voice or actual physical portrayal? It sounded like David scully

Johnson is gone and there isn’t a chance he survived I hope whoever you heard that from isn’t spreading that rumor
Would really like to see him along with shipmaster rtas Vadum. They’re some of the few remaining characters left from the days of halo 2-3 that are still alive but we just haven’t seen since then.
