Could Infinite mean time travel in Halo ?

I’m thinking maybe the game will have time travel where Chief is jumping back in time to prevent certain events from happening. Maybe he goes back to when the rings were being built during some point in the game ?

No, Infinite takes 3 years after the events of Halo 5

I know, but what if time travel is a big plot device in the game ?

If its never been mentioned in any game before why would they do that after how poorly halo 5s campaign was received

I was thinking there could be an infinite loop of the rings being fired, killing everything, then life re-evolving and the cycle repeating. So technically master chief has been alive many times. But that probably makes no sense and I would have issues with this.

Multiple timelines? Like mortal kombat 11?

No like a loop that repeats.

Groundhog day/edge of tomorrow? Idk if that could work in a halo game but who knows

More like, the rings wipe out all life and evolution has to happen and mankind goes through everything all over again up until the rings kill them again. I personally wouldn’t like it but that’s what the title infinite made me think of.

Were talking about 100 thousand years between the halo firing and chief ending up on the halo, how can you do that in a time loop?

It could be to explore the lore of Halo before the events of the first Halo game. It would open so many things that haven’t been covered. Maybe in a way like the show Quantum Leap did… Chief has to make things right so he can leap home, but it turns out he can leap home whenever.

Well, there is one who already created Halo universe i believe, but… i do not say his name. Nor his son.

That would be a pretty lazy move.

Because i believe this, [Endless loops] was a second and third chance for saving Those Spartan teams and sergeant Johnson (Halo 3) and there’s a Rookie (Halo 3 ODST) from the Human Covenant War beginning. That what makes Halo universe just repeating itself like Endless loops, For Resetting whole memory, Lifespan, where your childhood was a came from, and the Timeline even whole [Living souls] in the Halo universe. That what i describe it, But Never fully understand why. By the way, Do you not know why Endless loops was a moving forward? Because Endless loops was repeat itself like [Recycling cube] all time. But I’m not really sure why Who told you about Time Travelers was turn out to be a Lie I’m afraid… There is nothing i can do to explain you Why… But You have to wait for Halo infinite shows up on 10 month October/ Day Unknown /Time unknown/ year’s 2021.

Unless you move your -Yoink- to keep find information on Halo waypoint about Halo infinite update, that would be less lazy, more Searching. i like it.

“Infinite” could refer to a lot of things.
Infinite potential?
Something vast or great. (such as the Halo array)
Boundlessness.
Endless amount of time - thus the 10-year plan.

And from a narrative perspective… Presuming you are correct (which I don’t think, but as a thought game), presumably the time tech would be Forerunner? Because they were vastly more advanced than the UNSC or Cov… So… If they had time travel tech and could undo things, why didn’t they?
Why didn’t they stop the Flood?
Why didn’t they extend the hand of friendship to ancient Humanity?
Why didn’t they depose their most crazed leaders?

There are just too many why this and why that for me to think that time travel would be used in this story.
Not to mention, it could very well make just about all of the good parts of the canon to feel invalid and pointless, and leave the franchise a ghostly shadow of its former self.
My personal opinion… If H5 was an unwelcomed hiccup, then Infinite with time travel would be an irreversible unneeded tracheotomy.

If they do time travel stuff, I hope they handle it well cause it’s -Yoinking- hard to do.
And by that, I mean time travel should have consequences, it can’t just be a tool to make everything better or change things to give you an advantage against your ennemies, it has to -Yoink- things up a little or a lot. (I’m thinking end of Ocarina of Time or Avengers Endgame, there are others but they’re the first that come to my mind right now)

But, I really don’t want time travel in Infinite because I’m not a big fan of time travel, I just want a really good game with a really good story and a really good multiplayer.
(Also I agree with NoJumningYo, he has good point)
