E3 2018 is very close, nearly a month away. I believe that it’s probable that there will be a teaser trailer for Halo 6 (or whatever the title is). I, like many, believe that the game won’t be releasing this year, but rather 2019. Many, myself included, have been saying that the game will probably come out in Fall 2019. However, could it be possible that the game will not release in Fall, but Spring 2019? Would be interesting for a mainline Halo game to release in that timeframe of the year. If I had to guess, the game releases Fall 2019, but there’s a possibility Spring. What do you think?
I hope autumn this year ;D
Maybe. But we have not enough info to make an accurate guess.
halos have always been released in the fall

Yup. If I had to bet, I’d say a November/December release either this year is when H6 comes out. October this year will mark 3 years since H5 was released…and the main Halo games are generally released every 3 years (H4: Nov 2012, Reach: Sept 2010, H3: Sept 2007, Nov 2004, CE: Nov 2001).
And with the MCC updates on the schedule for this summer, it seems (at least to me) that 343 is putting all their resources into finishing H6 for a fall 2018 release. This summer could very well be the crunch/pre-release phase of new game development (in the life cycle of game development). Seems reasonable that after that phase has passed, they can turn more parts of their team loose to work on other projects.

If it was ready for this fall, they would’ve announced it in 2017 already. They’re not going to leave only a six month marketing window for the game. It’s just not enough time to build up hype for the game. I’m almost certain Halo 6 will get a fall 2019 release since it wasn’t announced during last E3.

They could be trying a new marketing strategy though. With the big ramp up and hype around Halo 5 followed by the disappointing launch content I feel really hurt the success of the title. It is more likely that they will release in 2019 though, just wouldn’t put 2018 late fall release past the realm of possibility.

I doubt the reception of Halo 5 has impacted the marketing strategy. After all, regardless of if you can meet their expectations, you still need to hype up people as much as possible for those all-important pre-order and first week sales. Even if people had grown skeptical with Halo 5, the best strategy is still to generate as much hype as possible. I don’t really see a way out of it.
I believe that Halo 6 will either release in spring of 2019 or fall 2020.
If Halo 6 launches in spring, it is in the drought season of game and could potentially bring in new people because of their starvation of games, but that doesn’t seem likely, considering that Halo isn’t in the best state right now and if people see a new Halo game in spring, anyone who doesn’t care much about Halo wont bat an eye and it’ll be forgotten by everyone except for those who still strongly follow the franchise, and I’ll tell you, that following wont be big enough for the game to be considered a success.
However, if Halo 6 launches in the fall, 343i will have more time to add to the game and create a better experience. But if it launches in the fall, it may be overshadowed by the games that have out-shined it in the last few releases and could be unsuccessful.
Either way, I for the most part think that Halo 5 should release in early fall of 2020 because if it gets out soon, and gets out completed this time, then people will see it and people will get around, if it’s good enough, that Halo is back and it would likely have a successful year. If they’re able to pull of a great Halo game.

I don’t think they’ll wait until 2020, that’s way too late. I think it’ll either be Spring or Fall 2019.
Possible as games have changed their release patterns before, doubtful as halo has never done it and the end of the year is typically the best time to launch as that’s where most gamers are spending money.
i wouldn’t be surprised if it’s announced at E3 for this year, lately companies have been more quiet on their marketing to stop fans from being critically speculative. FO4 launched a few mere months after it was confirmed, MEA the same, ect ect. It’s honestly a method I’d prefer over announcing it at E3 but then waiting 16 months till it’s out. You better have good marketing to keep people interested that long or why bother?

The problem with that is Bonnie Ross said that every future game would have a beta. Having a beta and the game come out in the same year would not be enough time. The game is most likely releasing some time next year, with a teaser and beta this year.

Why wouldn’t it be enough time? Betas typically come out a few months apart before the games launch, all you’re doing is stress testing servers being the primary reason for a beta, after that it’s the small things cause you’re not changing anything major in a few months.
sea of thieves had one what, 2 months from its launch I believe. Andromeda was having a multiplayer beta 3 weeks from launch, destiny had open beta in late July and launched early September. Anything longer than 5 months isn’t really a beta and more of an Alpha stage game. If they announced a beta right at E3, that gives them 3-4 months to prepare for launch assuming the game would be out later this year and if not, just means they have more time.

Aside from the beta issue, Grim said in January essentially that we would not be seeing Halo 6 release this year.
I think it’ll come out in October or February 2018/2019
Im hoping for a Fall release.
I doubt it will release this year. As its been said previously, the hype train needs to get rolling. I also believe that they will change the release pattern and push this game out in mid 2019 when there are no big releases like CoD standing in their way.
Consider that in the past couple of years, players have increasingly chosen other franchises over Halo. Releasing Halo in the same timeframe when players have to make a CHOICE seems counterproductive to me, because apparently other shooters are simply more popular.
My take:
Halo Spin Off this fall with H6 Beta (full game out fall 2019)
or
Nothing this year but H6 spring 2019
They gotta give us something this year and I’m saying this not as an Halo fan but a Xbox fan, they need big exclusive game ASAP.
no halo at E3 this year is Xbox suicide.
I’m hoping for the multiplayer beta to be released sometime later this year
No way it’s coming in the Spring it will be Fall 2019. The game won’t sell as well if it is only hyped up for 6 months versus 18 months and they will need the end of the year sells from a fall release. As a dedicated halo fan/player I would love to see Halo come this Fall or this coming Spring but I also understand neither of the times are good for Halo and I’m willing to wait even if for me and other dedicated players alike who you wouldn’t even really need to market for.
