People were a bit shocked with no teaser for Halo 6 at E3 2017. People for a while speculated that the game will release next year, with an official announcement this year. There are people, myself a while ago, believe that Halo 6 will release in 2019. However, there is another possibility. Phil Spencer has said a few times that he doesn’t want to announce games so early, and have players wait a while. I think 343 and MS will do what Bethesda did with Fallout 4. I think they will announce Halo 6 at E3 2018, and then release it in November. I think the beta will be shortly after the announcement, perhaps within that week the beta opens. What do you think, I believe this is a strong possibility.
I think that, given Phil’s statement that you mentioned, it is a likely possibility. It would behoove 343i and sales of Halo 6 if they culminated the Halo 5 2018 World Championship Series shortly before Halo 6’s release. That way, when people are excited by the large event and prizepool, the hype can transfer momentum going into Halo 6. Perhaps they could even hold a mini-tournament for Halo 6 along-side the Halo 5 WCS, much like they did with Halo 2 Anniversary. Personally, I would love something along those lines.
On the other hand, if we have to wait until 2019 to get a high quality, un-rushed Halo 6, then that is fine too. I think that would be stretching Halo 5’s lifespan quite a bit too far, but that is a sacrifice that may very well be worth it.
With all of that said, I think the most opportune time would be a 2018 November or Holiday season release date for Halo 6, for sure.
I wouldn’t mind an announcement trailer six months before the game releases. Halo 5 was announced about two years prior to release, and that probably was apart of why Halo 5 was such a different campaign than advertised (aggressive marketing campaigns aside). Either way I would be satisfied if they reveal the curtain at E3 2018 and release same year, at least the product they are demoing is more or less close the final version.
I would recommend 343 to take their time with the next installment, whether it be H6 or a spin-off. Right now the community is patient enough to wait for a game, but not generous enough to take another bad game.
Anything’s possible. I’ve heard rumors Halo 6 will pull a ‘Titanfall’ and both present and release it in the same year. Personally, I hope the rumors are true. I’ve been waiting for a good Halo story for too damn long.

my guess is if its coming out 2018 is that it will be announced before e3. they’ve said all halos are gonna have a beta after the mcc so depending on what exactly they plan to accomplish with their beta they probably want it out there before e3 are at e3 at the latest so they have time to make adjustments.

With MCC getting a revival however, something is telling me Halo 6 will launch on 2019 - 2020 maybe a teaser or even a beta on 2018
I am about a coin flip away from thinking 2018 vs 2019. I might lean 2019, ever so slightly.
