Could Halo 5: Guardians be aiming for a T rating?

Reasons:
1. There is a big RP symbol when the beta starts up, implying that it could be rated T instead of M

2. Halo has been very mild in language for an M game. The language used is very mild like “hell” “damn” “crap”, they never have “F word” or “S word”. So the devlopers wouldn’t need to change Halo’s dialogue or vibe that much to reduce it to a T rating

3. Halo has been very mild in violence for an M game. The only violence in Halo is blood coming out of shot enemies and landing on the wall or floor in a puddle. The only gore in Halo is the flood. So the devlopers wouldn’t need to change Halo’s action/violence or vibe that much to reduce it to a T rating.

4. Regarding blood, INTERESTINGLY enough Halo 5’s beta had NO blood land on the floor or wall in a puddle. Could 343i purposely be trying to reduce the blood to get it too a T rating? Or could it be because this is a beta, blood hasn’t been implemented yet.

5. Halo 4 had less blood then previous Halo’s. I tested it. In Halo reach, when you shoot a dead elite or spartan for example, every bullet that goes into him leaves a puddle of blood on the ground for each shot. In Halo 4, theres a 50% chance that a puddle of blood will appear when a elite or spartan is shot. So not every bullet makes the enemy bleed in Halo 4, only sometimes.

Halo 4 could be the bridge-ing point of Halo transitioning into a T rated game. 343i could have done this to make it more subtle.

6. If 343i lowers Halo’s ESRB to T instead of M, that will increase sales as parents will let their children get it (although I personally think Halo is so mild that I’d rate it 10+, even the games with the flood).

I’ve never thought of Halo as a standard ‘M’ game. It’s possible that they are going for a ‘T’ rating and I don’t mind that at all. I don’t think the blood is a huge staple to Halo; I don’t mind at all if it’s not there in multiplayer but it might seem weird in campaign.

I’m surprised Halo was ever rated M, personally.

I extremely doubt it.

I don’t mind too much either if Halo 5 gets a T rating. Although I feel blood makes the game more fun. They should at least keep the blood and gore present with the flood and covenant and prometheans (although they are robots), because they are aliens. And alien gore is acceptable in PG movies. If they take out the human blood, I’m fine with that, you rarely shoot humans anyway (except multiplayer).

I did want to see more blood and gore for realism (this is next gen), but I don’t mind much. But they should keep the blood and gore when shooting aliens though. Making the Flood explode into peices is so much fun!

Same. Probably due to the flood being gorey when they die, and that some flood resemble humans.

I… huh. i dont know. i would actually enjoy it being teen. then i could purchase it myself

Awww, that’s so cute

I mean that in a good way.

I remember being 13 (I’m 18 now) and wanting to buy Halo but those jerks wouldn’t let me. I had to bring my dad over for them to let me. I first played Halo CE when I was 8, I have no memory or traumatization from of the violence.

Violence has never been a big part of Halo, so I don’t mind. But I hope they keep the aliens bloodied up, it makes the game more fun when you shoot them and you see juicey alien blood come out of them. Plus PG movies have alien gore.

They are making the multi childish being it’s the biggest seller. It attracts younger players because a parent won’t be turned off by the game being too mature in their eyes.

Classic Halo games recieved an instant M rating because of the flood. Otherwise they would have been a T. They even stated the flood being the direct reason the esrb giving them an M. (one look was all it took)

Halo four had the over sexualized (looks) cortana and people being composed. (Especially the scene with tillson)

Halo 5 campaign is supposed to be the most dark so it will probably have more scenes like the composer one which will give the game an instant M.

It could just be the simple fact that it’s just the beta. Maybe they removed some unnecessary assets to help the game run easier and better for the beta, and make it have a smaller download? Considering it’s a 10gb download

Cortana in no way was sexualized in Halo. Infact, Halo has done a good job with nudity… Cortana’s nudity is completely non sexualized, it’s artistic. Shes naked, sure, but for artistic purposes, not sexual. And her bits are not present. True sexualization would be giving cCortana -Yoink!- jiggle animations, wj=hich is what every Japansese video game developer does (except Nintendo).

Nah, if the flood come back I want them to be terrifyingly gruesome. Like in 343 guilty spark blood is everywhere, the elite has his chest ripped open , a marine is on the verge of suicide. If the flood come back they need to come back with next gen power, make the first mission with them a mission to remember.

If halo is T I would be let down, probably microsoft’s fault if it is, so they can grab an extra buck  . I feel T overall is limiting potential of some games, like in destiny I thought it would be cool to gamble and go to a bar in the tower similar to red dead but the dream died when I saw the dreaded T.

I remember seeing that on wikipedia back when Halo 4 was announced, I don’t know if it’s still true. Where did you hear that and how long ago?

I think the blood part is apart of halo just looking back a ce knowing someone got.shot in that spot and die it’s almost like markers and it’s signature

They removed gambling because of the T rating? thats so stupid. What has our society come too?

“OOOOH GAMBLING IS A SIN, IT’S IMMORAL, WE CAN’T LET OUR “INNOCENT” 13 YEAR OLDS GAMBLE, EVEN THOUGH THEY SWEAR WITH THEIR FRIENDS AND WATCH -Yoink!- BEHIND OUR BACKS” ~ Most middle aged adults in our society.

That’s weird, because New Super Mario Bros rated E had gambling: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tesg8T8kjzI

It also makes it more fun

I’m, really hoping this is a glitch. There are games that are T that have blood splatter on stuff. That being said, I also believe the Gears of War 3 Beta was RP too.

If the flood play a part in this game, it will probably be rated M.

Honestly though, I’m surprised most Halo games are rated M. Reach, ODST, and 4 could have easily been T

I’m STILL surprised Halo 4 was rated M…

mee too

Halo is a war game. As long as the campaign story involves major war themes it will be rated M. Lack of cursing, -Yoink!-, blood and gore, won’t prevent that.
