Everyone remembers Noble 6, the valiant member who sacrificed himself/herself to bring us Halo. However, Noble 6 wasn’t anyone, he/she was YOU.
Could this return in Halo 5? The main protaganist being you with Agent Locke and whoever else searching for Chief? I mainly am saying this because in the E3 trailer for Master Chief Collection where agent locke is talking to someone(can’t remember what he said the person’s name was), could this person be us? All speculation but i’d love it if they did that.
EDIT: I did not know of the details with Halo 5, that both Locke and Chief will be the playable characters.
The other possibility for what I was saying is maybe the second season of Spartan Ops? Who knows, maybe the return of Crimson will come.
It’s been confirmed somewhere that you will play as both Chief and Locke, kind of like Halo 2. But the Chief is still the main Protagonist and I feel like 343 will having you playing him the majority of the time, maybe after Lock finds him you completely switch over for the rest of the game.

This really doesn’t make any sense. Noble 6 was someone… he was Noble 6. His character is canon, he exists in the lore. Noble 6 is no different than Chief or the Arbiter except you were able to customize his armor however you wanted.
And to reiterate what others have said, the playable characters in H5 are Locke and Chief. However the game supports 4-player co-op and most people think Locke’s partners will be Spartan-IVs and Chief’s partners will be Blue Team (Fred, Kelly, and Linda).

He was mostly a blank slate. In-game, he was intended to be you, while he was already an established character in the universe. This was confirmed in Halo: New Blood, where he was stated to be a male.

Yeah I get that, that he didn’t have lines or a personality and wasn’t on the cover or part of the statue and all that. I know Bungie intended we the player to be Noble 6, but I never really felt that or thought it was really worth anything. It’s not like Reach had a morality system or gave us decisions to make… everyone’s Noble 6 did the exact same thing, he/she just looked different. I didn’t really feel like I was playing as “myself” in Reach any more than when I played as Chief in all the others.
Whenever Reach is discussed, I gotta post this trailer because it’s so sweet and on the off-chance someone hasn’t seen it.
