Could Didact be leading the NEW Covenant?

From what I gather, the truce between humans and elites is broken by Halo 4, so the Elites are teaming up with the other aliens again (Grunts confirmed, Jackals possible?) to form a NEW Covenant.

Is it not possible for the Covenant to have discovered Requiem and found the Didact inside? Or at least his mind fragmented into an AI construct? It would certainly be a twist for a pissed off Forerunner to be instructing the Covenant against the humans since the humans destroyed a few Halos and did some severe damage to the Ark…

Or at least, the Covenant would view him as an oracle.

I wouldnt be happy if the “new enemy” was just remnants of the previous covenant. But they said it will be a new enemy we have never seen before so no worries.

Just to add on to that Jackals part, there is a picture of some Jackals in the background of one of the pictures in the GI article.

Pahahaha!! awesome desk flip XD! that made me ROFL!

I don’t even know who this Didact is. So, naturally, if another game comes out that is tightly woven around the expanded universe, I will be upset.

Look at Gears 3 and ME3, there were parts in those games rewarding those who delved into the expanded universe while leaving everyone else behind. I don’t like that.

the truce is not broken… Those are a group of elites/jackals that went there own way and franky called them pirates.

Didact is mentioned in Halo 3 terminals and a Halo CEA terminal. Halo CEA terminals were supposed to hint at Halo 4, I think, as well as the books, so I’m just trying to piece little things together.

Fair enough, maybe we’ll see some good Elites led by the Arbiter fighting the rebel Elites.

I still think Didact is in Requiem in some form. Since it protects things from the Halo rings, I’m sure it would be used as a safe haven for the Forerunners. Frankie said no Flood in Halo 4 so I doubt they stored Flood on Requiem for study.

i dont know why but it’s starting to really bother me that people are automatically associate elites with the covenant instead of them as a stand alone faction this time around. i have no idea why it is but it is! lol

The Didact doesn’t hate humans and he loves life. Why would he want to start another war? If anything he would side with humanity not the covenant, in which the remaining members of still think activating the rings is a good idea. Or that exterminating an entire race is just swell.

The Didact, as said in the last line of the Maw terminal, may have some temper problems or new cause for fighting. We just don’t know what his deal is yet. Hopefully in the final Forerunner novel, though.

That being said, Forerunners in general don’t make much sense as an enemy. Personally, the “they’ll be mad because we blew up some Halos and hurt the Ark” as a potential reason for the Forerunners to want to fight us, to me, is a little bit dumb. I’m really not trying to sound like a jerk, but that motivation behind the Forerunners would just be kind of stupid. Again, I’m really not trying to sound rude, just saying my opinion.

Not to mention, a lot of forerunners, the Didact included, were very much against the halo array in the first place.

Yeah, except for Faber, but he’s presumed dead.

My question is “why?”

From what I’ve read, the Didact was against the creation of the Halo’s. Why would he lead an army for a NEW Covenant when the Covies’ purpose was to activate them?

Yeah. But as we all know, if there isn’t a body, the guy’s alive… usually.

If we’re going to be fighting anyone…
…It’ll be Faber, the Master Builder.
He betrayed the Life Workers, killed many of them.
Not to mention he destroyed Charum Hakkor… <.<
From what I can tell he hated anything that wasn’t a Forerunner.

He’s basically an extremely intelligent, mad scientist… xD

Precursors create Flood
Precursors threaten galaxy
Didact knows this

“Yup, gonna attack the humans, which will serve no purpose whatsoever!”

Seems legit
/sarcasm

Nope.

^ Made me laugh so hard.

Of course not, if u read the book, CRYPTUM ( I could spell it wrong), u would know that the dictact thinks that lesser beings below himself are unworthy and irratable. And he had no contact with the covies at all.
