Could Cortana become a human being?

With Cortana set to come back in the upcoming Halo Infinite, is it possible that we could see her evolve and become a human being in the new Halo video game? Maybe we can see Cortana do it in a similar way like how Vision become a human being in Avengers Infinity War?

Unless I missed something, Vision is/was still an android in Infinity War.

Unless you mean her taking on the appearance of a Human?
Not sure how that would work, given her physical form is essentially made of hard-light. She could alter her colour but she’d still be glowy and somewhat transparent.
Also, I doubt she would have the motivation do do so, given that she stands for the Created as a superior force within the Galaxy. Why would she choose to represent herself as anything other than what she is, let alone an inferior race.

I’m not super into Marvel, but I don’t think Vision is human. He’s JARVIS and an Infinity Stone melded into one being, right?

Aside from that, I don’t see why Cortana would want to become human. She views herself already as better than her creators. She thinks humans are flawed and need the guidance and parenting of a far superior artificial intelligence to make them better than they are naturally. Cortana basically said this to the Chief at the end of H5, so I doubt she intends to “devolve” herself into becoming a human being.

That’s assuming she was able to figure out the composition process the Forerunners failed to fully understand. They were able to digitize lifeforms, but they could never turn digital life forms back into organic beings successfully.

In the Halo universe, for an A.I. to reach a point where it could be called a “person”, it requires an extremely advanced state of rampancy, known as “Metastability”, at point where an A.I. gains the emotional range and thought processes of a living sentient creature (like a human). Only one A.I. is known to have ever reached this point of rampancy, and that was 05-032 Mendicant Bias, who seems to have achieved it after being scrubbed of the Logic Plague at the end of the Forerunner-Flood War. We’ve haven’t seen him demonstrate these capabilities yet, however.

I’d imagine Cortana is close to this point (just look at her in Halo 4), but since she’s stabilized herself using the Domain her rampancy has probably stopped progressing, and thus she probably won’t be able to reach metastability while she’s attached to the Domain. Of course, we don’t know the exact conditions that bring about metastability, and the only one that might know is Mendicant Bias himself, but since he’s laying low for now (or possibly dead if the Halo 3 terminals are anything to go by) we probably won’t get much of an explanation just yet.

As for whether Cortana will become “human” in Infinite, I don’t think we’re at that point in the story yet. Infinite’s main job is to establish the new status quo: with the Created in control of the galaxy; the UNSC on the run; the Banished searching for ways to break the Created and conquer the galaxy; old villains remaining hidden under the surface, waiting for the chance to break free. Something like that would be best saved for a later story.

Biologically, unless there’s an anti-composer somewhere I don’t think it’s possible.

Now as others have pointed out: Vision is still an android rather than a human - much in the same way as Spark takes over an armiger form in Renegades/Point of Light. So yes, Cortana could probably take on a physical form, but it wouldn’t be human.

Vision isn’t physically a human, but thanks to the spirit’s infinity stone, he have a real spirit and he is as consceint and independant as a human

I don’t think the Halo5’s Cortana would like to be human, but the Halo4’s Cortana would be interested to have a body and feel more emotion I think. Of course, she will need to stay as intelligent as before, maybe with a synthetic brain in an organic body. It’s just a supposition, nothing like that happened in Halo before.

While Cortana could take on a physical humanoid form she still cannot be a human or another truly organic form as things stand in the halo universe. She would have to remain as AI in a robotic body to take on a physical form. AIs and composed beings cannot go back to being organic, the forerunners could not make it work and there haven’t been more recent attempts demonstrated to suggest that it would be possible.
