Could Cortana be...Playable???

All this fuss about Cortana becoming a physical being got me thinking-- if she did, would she have the potential to be a playable character?

And what kind of body would she have?

A flesh an’ blood human?

Android?

A hardlight body? (Id want this one)

And what could she do? What “powers” would she have?
Would you think itd be possible for her to be a player-character?

In all fairness, that would be pretty terrible.

> In all fairness, that would be pretty terrible.

I agree, it wouldn’t be much fun.

To me, Id think itd mostly depend on what shed be able to do.

I think it would be cool if she was a fruit salad that can summon tiny explosive donkeys. She could run around on little fruit salady leggy things and she could also spit fireballs and wool.

The only thing I could think of is she takes over a Promethean Construct and you play as that in some sort of character level. Other than that with this crowd you’re gonna get a whole lot of NOOOOOOOOO…

This guy’s got the right idea but I don’t think it would be that great without any salad tongs.

I hope she isn’t playable, and I really hope she doesn’t get a physical body. EDI getting on in ME3 was one of the things that killed that game for me.

awful idea

Bioware tried it too and the result was less than optimal

Just had a thought, what if she is playable in certain scenes, she gets inserted into a network and the playable stages are of her hacking her way through the systems, but in a “virtual world” type environment. She doesn’t headshot grunts, but she can energy blast “anti-virus” or rogue programs.

If it’s a covenant system, it can be based on covenant based VR environment, if it is a forerunner system - a halo type, a flood system - gets the gooey (GUI) infected system.

there can be objectives and puzzle challenges where point A has to be done before going back through gate b.

Whoa.

No.

Gawd no.

I’d rather have the salad tong robot idea.

Cortana has always played several roles in Halo, from being a guide and narrator to a quirky side-kick making amusing comments and throughout the series to a character we can sympathize with and worry about. She already is as much of a character as anyone else in Halo, regardless of her lack of a physical form. EDI and Joker in ME3 was creepy enough, the last thing I want to see is an awkward and unnecessary Chief and Cortana romance.

No Thank’s .

I will stick with chief .

Agreed.

Then again, the whole idea of her getting a physical body would be completely rediculous.

Just let 343i have us deal with Cortana’s mortality and her mental decline and her ultimate death. That would be far more emotional and interesting than having her getting an escape route and becoming Halo’s EDI…

If anything a mini-game, nothing more.
