Im thinking if MS and 343 could work with some big developer on a Halo game that isn’t the main series like they did with Halo Wars 2.That would be great so that we could get more Halo games more often.Im a fan of story so i would like a Halo rpg where i think Bethesda would be perfect for that. What do you guys think what genre and what developer would be great for Halo expansion of games?
Bungie had worked with Ensemble Studios to develop Halo Wars 1. Ensemble studios is now closed. 343i has now worked with Creative Assembly for Halo Wars 2. I’m hoping Halo Wars 2 sells well, but an RTS on consoles is always a risk. I wouldn’t want another studio producing Halo FPSs the way Sledgehammer/Infinity Ward are developing CODs. Because COD is very uninspired and I don’t want that to happen to Halo. And I don’t think Bethesda would work for Microsoft. They do their own publishing, after all.
Maybe Microsoft could work with smaller studious to produce more small, mobile phone games, seeing the success of Fallout Shelter for example (micro-transactions represent good money). But as for big, AAA, console games, i don’t think it’s going to happen because, well, it’s risky, especially on only one console and with a declining franchise.
Infinity Ward
pls no hate
All jokes aside I think Creative Assembly did a really good job on HW2, and would be open to more spinoff games with other devs. Bethesda seems kinda iffy to me, but I’ll edit my post as I more devs come to mind.
cough Bungie! Wait what? I don’t know.
But for real, I wouldn’t mind if Creative Assembly did it. Even though I have yet to play Halo Wars 2, I hear a ton of good stuff about it.
I don’t see Microsoft sharing their ‘special’ games with other big companies like Bethesda, Activation or 2K. It’s surprising enough that they worked with Sega (Parent company of Creative Assembly) on Halo Wars 2. If they were to work with anyone on a separate FPS title, I would imagine they would be working with big independent companies like for example (but not specifically) Insomniac Games or Bungie, both of which make AAA games and sign contracts with bigger companies but aren’t owned by anyone.
It would be cool if 343 allowed Bethesda to make an open world Halo game. I would totally play that. Imagine making bases, building up marine armies, attacking insurrectionists.
I am a MASSIVE Skyrim fan.
So if 343 allowed Bethesda to make an open world halo…dude the possibilites would be endless. Im tempted to contact 343 and Bethesda and set up a meeting right now!
I would like a TPS stealth game starring an ODST. Or maybe an FPS horror/zombie style game featuring the flood, starring a marine/group of marines. No idea what studios I’d pick though.
IMHO MS is in good relation with EA(Dice),Rockstar,Bethesda,…But ok i think Telltale Games would certainly make a Halo adventure game if asked and maybe Crytek or Monolith?

Open world Halo… Hmm… That would be something. As long as it isn’t too goofy.
