Cosmetics Toggle Poll

I want a toggle because as op said above. Non Halo things don’t belong in halo and there should be a toggle to not see non Halo things.

Each cosmetic should have it’s own toggle.

I’d be fine with all or nothing toggles but overall I want Halo themed armour and cosmetics to show

You lost me there man - that’s crazy. The UI for this would be nuts.

Military science fiction? You got Spartan IV’s walking around in Pink and purple stripes in Halo 4-5 since multiplayer became canon. Where is your whining on that? Or do you fear the tensity of a pink armored warrior mauling you down more than a Samurai?

Lol yes, exactly, since Halo 4 343 has been moving Halo away from military science fiction and I’m not a fan of that.

yeah the entire team of 343 devs from every department and every hired contractor has to wake up at 2am to go to the office at the exact same time to write a line of code to disable client side effects. insanity

@LITTLEFATMONKEY, Psst. Pink has always been an option in Halo.

Idk man. I just don’t want to see the cosmetics. Ruins the asthetics

That’s a fair point! Back when we could pick our own colors. I still personally would prefer that MP went in a more canon-based invasion type direction… or that if they did so they would limit the cosmetics in those game types.

I suppose for me the line was somewhere between pink armor and the new cat ears/holo Mohawks paradigm. Not to mention that I personally feel like this content is a waste of time, it’s divisive in the community. They could be spending that time better by adding more serious Halo content. Just my opinion though!

Let’s be honest.

Other than the kill effects and the occasional armor effect - how much do you really notice these things outside of the intro screen and final screen (and maybe kill cam)?

During gameplay, with outlines, all these things aren’t very noticeable.

I mean, the outlines also fall under the broader issue of 343 focusing on cosmetics and mtx. If people weren’t so focused on other players seeing their Spartan, and Microsoft was less focused on mtx, then we could just have a game that looked like all of the Halos of the past.

The cat ears weren’t as big of a deal/visible but the cyber showdown stuff is, and we all know that it will only get more flashy and bombastic from here.

Very noticeable. Ruins every game. Maybe some people have tunnel vision. I don’t

I don’t see an issue with it. Customization in Halo is important to many people and if a lot of people would feel less polarized by some of the wackier stuff if we had a toggle, then why not?

Personally, I don’t mind seeing/using everything there is. But if it’ll make more people happy, I’m all for it. This game is for all of us.

H4’s armor made sense, neon mohawks don’t

I recall past Halo 4, there were pink spartans too. I also dont recall a Halloween costume of ghost skulls and flaming heads ‘modern military’ especially confetti.

Yes, those things are all things I’m not interested in for this game. I’m just glad they’ve never dipped that kind’ve crap into the actual canon, but they’re getting pretty close (did you see the initial renderings of Chief with cat ears?)

There’s no denying that 343 has taken it a lot further than bungie ever did. With an issue like this that divides the community so much, the best solution is either a toggle so players can enjoy the game the way they would like, or not releasing such divisive content. Halo: Reach managed to ride the balance just right… there were a few silly armor effects that some people could unlock, but the majority of the armor available in the game was in-universe. I just want to either return to that level of balance, or let everyone play with their cat ears and stuff if it makes them happy, just give me a toggle.

Exactly people Argue “oh but it was is in reach”. Yeah it was. In a limited fashion.

This is up for debate honestly

PAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH

i mean you are right, Bungie has never locked colors behind a paywall

In Halo 4 and 5, definitely up for debate. I think we can agree at least somewhat that Infinite, if it hasn’t already gone further than Bungie did, will very likely continue to get wackier as time progresses (ala Warzone, Battlefield, etc).

Not presenting a negative or positive opinion on this (in this comment), just a point for discussion.

They probably wouldn’t consider this due to it hurting sales on cosmetic’s knowing what people want to show off can be disabled.

I really don’t care either way. I guess you can request and see how far it gets you…
