Cosmetics and unpopular industry tactics

Its just as i thought, i hoped it wouldnt be this way but it is. Half the halo reach armour is missing and i can almost guarantee where it is, the store. They put fan favourite armour in the battlepass and tossed the rest of it to be sold in the optional store, its good to know that entire armour sets cost 30$ with tax and that halo is set to be the greediest triple AAA launch yet, this is unforgivable, appalling almost, and is for sure why they kept pricing a hidden secret until now. This is a huge slap in the face to everyone who plays this game, is anyone else feeling this way?

I also noticed the armor coating situation on top of this. All the free, or unlockable coatings are all dirty and dull shades of colors, while the paid coatings are clean, bright, and vibrant.

I’m not really surprised as we saw this in the flighting and it was excused as “it’s just a flight bro”, but to no one’s surprise it remained unchanged.

I shall be playing default and ignoring the challenges. It seems there’s Too many any way - meaning less point scoring like Forza! At least there is ranked play which is the only true accolade in the game.

(Probably go for the achievements too)

I saw one armor bundle for 20 bucks and it’s so basic looking.

I dont like how the armor cores limit our customization

Way too many people gave the armor coating system a pass just because they were hyped. I’m hyped too, but good lord the prices are stupid high. 30 bucks to unlock some tints and maybe three armor pieces?

The micro transactions are the biggest slap in the face… But they’re not going anywhere…
I just want the sniper to sound like it did in H3 or Reach. It sounds somewhat dull.
The scopes seem… Smaller than previous titles, maybe it’s just me…

I agree… and I knew that there were going to be microtransactions… but they are honestly outrageous! Like @indi_saga said… biggest slap in the face. I miss just being able to earn everything. Sure, maybe it was a long freaking grind… but it was still nice to know that I could eventually get all the cool shiny things. Now, I can’t… because I’m broke, and only slightly too responsible to spend that much money on cosmetics.

Yeah this is horrible. Really bad. I’m not happy with this at all. I understand they need to make money and if they sold the battle pass for like say 20 dollars that let you unlock everything that would be ok but 30 for one set of armor…I mean that’s bad.

In the same boat.

Played one match and quit after that because of how slow the progression was. Throw in the fact that without paying for the battle pass there is no armor to unlock, and I just don’t see the point in playing. The multiplayer isn’t fun and immersive enough to justify me playing without fun progression.

The sad thing is that having a bit of multiplayer to play and seeing the world made me want to buy the campaign more, but I don’t feel like I can support this kind of gouging and feel good about it.

Yeah, honestly 343 needs to either axe the store or give us a sustainable way to earn credits through gameplay that isn’t tied to a paywall or the garbage tier challenge system. Honestly this game will be a flop because of it’s monetization. This is why I don’t support games with microtransactions, they’re all trash.

I’m kind of disappointed with Infinite after waiting so long. Makes me sad that after all this time, I’d rather play Halo 5. But now the population is utterly dead.

I miss games in which everything could be unlocked with time and effort, not by putting money down on the table. Or opening random packs. It’s impossible to have a good selection of cosmetics to choose from without forking over money.

I hate that players are seen as formidable based on what rare skin they bought or did easy challenges for, not by steadily dominating in game. That kills pure competition.
