After all of us seeing the halo 5 trailer it seems that Master Chief is returning to the lesser ark. After the trial of Mendicant Bias excerpt from Silentium we know that the Iso Didact buried him underneath the sands of the ark. So my theory is Bias was Cortana’s solution in some way as she had no knowledge of the halo ring and even says a way to stop the flood without firing the remaining halo rings. As we all know Bias has deep knowledge of the flood itself leading the attack during the forerunner flood war. So Maybe he found a way to defeat them. Thoughts on this?
Maybe he gave cortana the idea I have a feeling he will be a key character in halo 5 and maybe 6
Its been brought up in the various ark theory threads before. Halo 3 has a lot of strings pointing towards the ark being much more than just a foundry. The terminals translated it to “Alexandria Before the Fire” which was known for its libraries. The absolute record is a possibility.
I believe one of the definitive editions also has an article questioning what Cortana’s solution was.
How I interpreted “Alexandria before the fire” was that the Alexandrian Library was the repository of the greatest collection of intelligence in the ancient world. The Ark was a giant Library of sorts holding the indexed species of a galaxy’s worth of sentient life before the Halo Array was fired. That’s all I took that to mean.
It will proberly have something to do with the flood or the Precurosrs. Mendicant is a “turncoat spun turncoat” after all.
I’m all for this theory, anything that enriches the universe is good in my opinion.
But think of this.
Why didn’t Cortana say anything at all at the time. “Chief wait, I meant do X Y Z”.
Also when chief asked if she had it, she knew exactly what he was talking about (the Activation index) meaning to me that this was her plan.
Do we know for a fact that Cortana had no knowledge of the newly created installation? I think she did and we followed her plan pretty much to the letter.
