“Cortana’s rampancy” is not a question.
There’s speculation that Cortana’s time in the Halo systems and all that information may have either overrode or accelerated her rampancy cycle. By Halo 4 she may have actually reached a stage beyond rampancy which is stable again because of what she’s been through as an AI.

She had all the halo data from Halo Ce which was a while ago i think over 7 years or around there (7yrs = her theoretical life span), and shes gonna prob get more data from the shield world thingy they are going towards. SO ya i agree, she gonnnaaa gooo crazy!

But, on topic, I think it would be a great part of the Halo storyline, if Cortana goes rampant, and John has to find a way to contain it.
If you read ‘Human Weakness’ In Halo Evolutions volume II, heck, even play Halo 3 you’ll know Cortana was going rampant from the Gravemind.
Sure, one can just assume that the Gravemind was just sending out fake Cortana messages to Chief, namely in the level Cortana, however if one dwells deeper and reads the afore mentione short story you would know that Gravemind actually messed up Cortana really bad, down to the core codes. He had the ability to accelerate rampancy tenfold it seemed.
It’ll probably happen in Halo 5, and we’ll have to deal with it as a main problem in Halo 6, at the end of which she becomes “Meta-Stable”. It’d be too convenient for the Chief to wake up and Cortana’s like, “Hey, Chief, guess what, I’m Meta-Stable!”
Though I’m tired of the multiple Cortana Rampancy threads…

In Halo Legends origins, Cortana was already showing signs of rampance 5 years after Halo 3, right before Halo 4. So yea, we will see a different Cortana.
