Chief doesn’t need a new AI, least of all a “new” Cortana. Halo 5 was supposed to be Chief moving on from Cortana’s loss, but we saw how that went. Now, if they do a new AI I’d like to see something completely different and unexpected. Didact’s floating around as a digital essences somewhere…

No, he doesn’t need a new one. But I believe it’s more likely than the crazy purple lady. Aka Cortana.
At least more likely that they make a new copy or your brain. Since that’s what she is.
My guess was it could be a good fragment of cortana or maybe somehow a backup of cortana not sure will have to wait and find out

I mean, neither of those things exist and if they did it’s pretty silly that they all of the sudden exist despite no hints of their existence prior.

Imagine Chakas coming back and teaming up with Chief.
My guess is it’s cortana. This whole trailer is about going back to the core roots of Halo and a big component of that is Cortana and Chief. How it happens, I don’t know. The ending of the trailer might be the end of the game itself (or quite near it). Maybe something like a journey to get her back, he gets her back, and then that opens up a new world of possibilities for more Halo.

Yeah, but do you really believe they can make a reunion like that after the Halo 5 story? Without it looking like a hollywood movie cliche?

Maybe its hinting that there is a cure for Cortana. Or it could be just another AI assigned to help the Chief or something he needs to escort, again.
At this point it could be numerous things so all we can do now is take a guess. Maybe there could even be a hint in the teaser like those glyphs. Though that could be rather bold unless we dont yet have a key to decipher the clue and hints are scattered in upcoming trailers.
Now that is a wild guessing.
I think its a new AI, reason being that cortanas serial number is 0452-9, when you soom in on the chip Chief puts into his helmet the serial number is 0453-0, but this might just be the chip distribution number. Im just guessing that might hint at something

I don’t think it would be Exuberant. I’d think she would want to stay at Genesis considering that’s the installation she’s assigned to. Guilty spark only left 04 because it was destroyed. I did like her as a character though and it would be cool if she found her way into Halo Infinte.
Out of everything, I totally forgot Cortana was “dead” and crazy. I was so happy to get SOMETHING on the next game in the series. Even tho it’s more of an engine trailer but it shows a change in art and a change for the series. Maybe a more classic vibe. Definitely interested in this title

Really this is plausible I think.
It’s easily to pull off, as far as cannon goes, and everyone gets their beloved Cortana back.
I seriously think that the clip has no story meaning. I think its just a fancy ending to show off the engine graphics.
It could just be an older AI that they find on the ring that could’ve been left by the UNSC like in HW2 how Red Team found Isabel.

Ok my honest thoughts in this are as follows. From what we saw int he trailer. We saw chief put the chip in his helmet yes. However we dont know if that is the chip that contained cortana. Nor do we know if its a new AI construct. Secondly from what ive read for halo infinite. They have confirmed that the story will continue from halo 5. We also know and its been confirmed that Halo infinite will focus purly on the master chief. With that said. This is what I belive if they are indeed going this route. We know that in halo 4 Cortan had sacrificed herself to save Chief. We also know she left him a promise at the end of 4 saying she would always take care of him. That brings us to halo 5. In halo 5 we learned Cortana Did in fact survive her rampancy Cured from forerunner tech. We know Cortana harbored a grudge against Humans for trying to dispose of her because of her rampancy. hence why she turned against them. Witch brings me to say this. Chief has held on to that chip since halo 4. We know throught all the halo games. That cortana is able to leave and return to that chip at Will. So long as Chief is holding the chip next to her. Hence forth since chief has held on to that very chip throughout halo 5. I belive it is Cortanas Chip Minus holding cortana within it. I belive hes held it as a keep sake. In memorium of when cortana was good. mainly speaking her assistance in saving humanity. I belive john has held it knowing that there may be some good left in cortana that she hasn’t completely fallen to her hatred of humanity. That said what we dont know is. If Cortana is truly doing this of her own free will. or if she is under the control of the Warden Eternal. In that case it may not even be the Warden Eternal but perhaps a forerunner AI made buy the didact. That is simply my thoughts based on Current halo lore. We will find out when the game is released
