She’s been deleted? I hope they didn’t just Thanos snap the created storyline out of existence.
She’s still around. She’s literally central to the story.
The way I understood it, was that there’s a new Cortana model which was supposed to rival rogue Cortana. However, with the ship the Chief’s in being completely obliterated/compromised, she was supposed to be destroyed to ensure the Banished couldn’t glean information off her. That wipe didn’t happen, so Chief still got his Cortana clone.
EDIT: Nevermind, I rewatched the clip, and it clearly says she’s gone. Welp, let’s hope she hasn’t been Jul M’dama’d off-screen.
I hope they found whatever nuclear option they could to make the plot work and basically crush Halo 5’s direction out of existence.

This is actually a great way to go about it IMO.
She’s probably been turned human via the same tech that converted humans into Promethean Knights so she can avoid capture. Either that or the new Cortana has been infected by the old Cortana and will retain Cortana’s memory’s later on.
I look forward to the theories that will be discussed from the various Youtube channels
Like I seem to keep mentioning lol, I hope they don’t get rid of Cortana. Halo will feel empty without her.

I wanted to see what happened post H5 to be honest and how the Guardians are dealt with. I don’t want the slate wiped clean.
I just hope they find a way to bring cortana like the older games and forget about the prometheans.Halo 5 story was a mess.

The Guardians were the greatest, seemingly unbeatable, threat in the universe. I really hope there’s some explanation. I understand we still have a ways to go until launch and we’ll hopefully get a few more bits of info along the way.
Cant believe how easily everyone is fine with Cortana being replaced! She and master chief are what made halo! Halo always was Chief and Cortana i think halo 5 really messed up by making her into the villain and took away the brilliant and sad sacrifice she made at the end of halo 4 but i hope halo infinte would somehow undo all that by putting her crazy actions in halo 5 down to the logic plague or corruption by forerunner sysytem/didact just hope there not going for the lazy option of killing her off quick and easy all of a sudden and replacing her! Cant imagine chief just accepting that it would seem way out of his character!

Yeh know what you mean. I’m getting red flags with this game so far since the game-play didn’t show much blood and the current Halo I believe was supposed to be testing ground for the Flood experiments and I feel like if they ignore the logic plague angle then there missing out on major plot-points. I feel like the whole Brute storyline should not be the entire storyline and I’m concerned my main questions about the ring will get ignored. I suspect ‘Cortana’ will reshow at some point and NeoCortana will be there as a support role for the player to help the player find the original Cortana.

Not sure about that. I’d prefer Palmer get less screen time as possible since I hated that character and would have zero problem with that character being killed off screen.

Loving the theories! Hopefully 343 prove us wrong and have really improved the story telling and put some good plot twists into infinite and Hopefully go into more detail about alot of things within the game instead of skipping loads and expecting everyone to have read or listen to it in all there other marketing to get the full story! but yes i also wouldnt mind palmer being killed off i cant stand her cocky smug attitude and after all shes only a plastic spartan not like the originals who were augmented and trained since they were children

Agreed, She is still there. This is just misdirect. People bite on this too hard, We don’t even know when in the story this new cut scene is.
People really misinterpeted that little bit of dialogue
now here’s the thing if she was then our new ai would’ve been deleted too so it that was true then why is she still here in the demo? no I think Cortana is still around after all she proably knows that she will be target for deletion so she proably made it seem like she was deleted but since John noticed this he thinks crotana is still out there so instead of getting them off her back she’s got them curious
