Cortana *SPOILERS!*

Okay, if Cortana is truly dead, then Halo is over for me. I’m sure some will find that view rather pathetic, but so be it.

For me, the relationship between the Chief and Cortana was integral with the story and key to me forming a personal connection with the rest of the story universe. If that is now over, then the story is for me as well.

I just can’t believe I waited five years for the story to be picked up and continued, only for it to yank the rug out from beneath my feet like that.

No Cortana…no more money. I’m fed up with the ends of games disappointing me. Red Dead Redemption, Mass Effect 3 and now Halo 4…

Thanks, 343…not.

If you were any smart you would have used information they’ve already put in front of your eyes to know what’s going to happen in the next games. The whole binary to flesh turns Cortana into an “abomination” and Halsey will be guiding you throughout the game just like Cortana. ONI will also be one of the antagonists. Also, don’t forget that the Halo: Silentium book spoiled that the Didact is not the ancient evil. But i agree with you on the part of “no more money” because people like you simply don’t deserve the Halo series.

OOPS It Lagged

Out of Curiosity, mind telling me the “spoiler” for Silentium? I’m curious, also I’ve beaten the game 3 - 4 times, and I understand she went into meta stability, but there is no way in HELL she is actually… Dead, she may still be on the ship, and well maybe Halsey will guide chief to return her home? I’m not sure, all we can do is guess, but ONI will be an enemy, its pretty clear from here, so I agree half and half

How often do characters in a franchise make it up to 4 games seriously? She was either being killed or whatever happens to her in this or the next game. This game was about making a connection with chief’s humanity. What better way to show that then to take away the one thing he cared for?

Are you guys sure ONI will be the enemy? In the beginning of the game Dr Halsey is “being interogated” by someone and at a certain point she asks him: Who are you? You are not from ONI.

Enlighten me, I havent read all the books so I could be wrong…

Look, this guy already played Halo 5! Lol, you are serious? Halsey as Cortana’s replasement? ONI as new enemy? Its sounds so dumb.

Well think - That man tried to convince her Chief was Dead, that man wants to replace chief by getting as much info out of her about the spartan II’s as possible, and then when chief rolls on the front door, whos in trouble? Chief, cause how much do you want to bet there will be some bigger guy there, or something? But they are NOT the ‘Ancient’ Evil, that I do not even know, but I know they will be something.

Many thanks for your less than insightful viewpoint and uncalled for personal insults.

I love being challenged. We’ll see who laughs harder

Maybe he just tried to convince her of the serious moral issues of the Spartan II program, in the end of Halo 3 you can see that actually everyone just figured he would be dead, there may not be a catch about that. It would just be a very good way of 343i to deepen the story.

Still, you could be right…

ONI has always questioned that spartan II project that is why it will always be the best, they wont allow it to happen again. They cause problems in the books to but they wont be the main antagonist.

I too though that there were going to use the Composer to turn Cortana into a real living thing, but after they fix it of course, they said it didn’t work right back in the day, don’t need to point out the obvious

The composer fixed cortana’s rampancy
