As you all know who have finished the game, Cortana basically becomes the ruler of the Galaxy. For those who have been playing Halo since CE. How does loosing Cortana as an ally make you feel? What do you think will happen to her in the next game?
After I let it sink in, its kind of a shock. She was the most consistently good and trustworthy character in the series besides the chief. I am wondering if they will provide any further explanation about her sudden transformation to arch villain. The rampancy was supposed to be cured so that cannot be the issue.
Honestly I feel a bit sad that now whenever I play as the Master Chief, rather than having my companion whom I’ve known for over 7 years, I will now be facing her.
It’s weird b/c I’m a huge Halo lore fan who loved Halo 1-4, ODST, Reach & has read the books… the story was so fragmented and unfocused that I didn’t feel any connection at all to be fully honest. This was the first Halo story to me that felt very ‘generic’. I think it all starts with Locke, the most generic and boring character I’ve ever played in a video game.
And no, I’m not a ‘MC only’ guy. I LOVE playing arby, Reach chars, ODST, etc. In fact, I would argue I prefer variety if done right.

First a cure only cures the ailment, it does’t fix the prolbems caused by that ailment. Cortana was cured of rampancy, but rampancy had already damaged her. Cortana also had to split her self many times, and not all those copies came back, and we know that has effected AIs.
It really didn’t dawn on me until a few hours after completing the campaign that the entire galaxy is at risk of being subjugated by our beloved purple-blue lady that has been in our head for 4 games.
Although, I am almost convinced this Cortana we find on Genesis is not the true Cortana… I feel like the Cortana we know would understand the hypocrisy she is spouting about peace with force, its like she is being controlled.
The Legendary ending with the humming is also intriguing. Is it a homage to Guilty Spark or something else entirely.
She was wearing too much in this one.
I actually kind of liked the twist that Cortana is alive, but she’s not really the same as we remember. Her becoming the enemy now makes the next game all the more interesting.
