She claims to be constructed, at least in part, from Dr. Halsey’s living tissue. How can that be, since she’s an AI? How can “living tissue” self-animate and de-animate?

She was basically copied from Dr.Halsey’s brain. She was copied from living tissue.
as i know it halsey flash cloned her brain and created cortana from that.
Cortana is a special case. There is a audio log dated 2550 about Halsey talking how special Cortana was. The audio log is located at the start of the level Requiem.
Yeah I was confused by this too. As I recall, weren’t ALL AI based off a human brain? Cortana was off Halsey, other AI’s were based off other people. I think I remember that in the “Fall of reach” book? I never remember Cortana being special other than she’s the only one from Halsey. Anyone else see this backed up?
Halsey was flash cloned and she remained living. All others were taken from corpses donated to science.
Halsey is still alive. THAT’S the key. A key that is assumed by Cheif cuz he’s been gone for 4 years and hasn’t had contact with her for even longer. lol
That’s why I was confused because Halo 4 didn’t state it that way. They made it sound like Cortana was special, she’s not. It just so happens someone else with the same tissue still exists. Which seems like a stretch but they had to explain away 3 more games of plot SOMEHOW. It’s a pretty shallow reason IMO but no game or universe is not without it’s holes in lore. 7 years was drilled in the universes lore for ages, and Cortana was supposed to have her life shortened EVEN MORE since she downloaded all that data off the first Halo ring. Seems they’re kinda ignoring this little difficulty. lol. Wasn’t she already going a little rampant in Halo 3?
