Cortana in the ending (SPOILERS)

Uh, Cortana died? Does anyone have any idea if she’ll ever come back?

Hard to say, we can speculate as to how she could have possibly survived, we can’t be sure though, it didn’t look good, but deep down I have a feeling, and I do hope, that we haven’t seen the last of her

I think it’s just going to be a temporary goodbye.

It’s almost certainly temporary, there is no way that the Chief will lose Cortana.

Besides the Cortana rampancy arc never completed, and a rampant Cortana is way more interesting than her dying in the first game in a new trilogy.

Still don’t understand how Master Chief survived detonating a nuclear weapon with his bare hands though.

If she doesn’t come back in Halo 6, that would be a ridiculously huge cow of a mistake on the part of 343i. Cortana was the second voice we ever heard in the Halo universe. Ever. For them to throw her away in the first game of a new trilogy is totally giving the finger to what the lore has built around her. Unless they focus a lot more on Halsey. In which case, they’d be brining Cortana in as Motherly figure rather than a Lover figure. I wouldn’t mind that. As long as they keep either her or Halsey in the limelight next to John, I’d be happy.

Otherwise, they’d damn straight lose my vote. Which would be a shame because this game has felt alright and I’m mildly pleased with how it turned out. I’d like to keep it that way.

> Still don’t understand how Master Chief survived detonating a nuclear weapon with his bare hands though.

I think Cortana was able to teleport him to safety or something like that.

I think she just teleported him away in time.

Im almost positive she will, and I will bet the Librarian has something to do with it.

She did disappear prior to the Librarian showing up, hopefully they are able to restore her.

I will be thoroughly disappointed if they give Chief a new AI or a new Cortana like a clean slate.

As for right no I hated the ending because they got rid of the last remnant of Halo besides MC. Plus the relationship between Chief and Cortana always added a good element to the main plot. Hopefully not to long from now 343 will announce that Cortana will be coming back just as she was. If not middle finger to 343.

It would be a huge disappointment if she isn’t in the rest of the Halo trilogy. The ending made me feel incomplete, and it’s supposed to for Halo 5. But it just didn’t feel right at the very end.

Yeah she pulled some space magic and put him on the internet with her so she could touch his chest.

Honestly Halo 4 is mainly centered on Chief and Cortana… And if it hadn’t been for Halo 3 and bits of Halo 2 this odd romantic story between a man in a suit and an AI wouldn’t have affected Halo 4 so much.

As I sit here and continue to think about the campaign I can’t help but feel deeply saddened. I personally did not mind the romantic stuff, mainly because it was such an odd one to begin with. To see one of my favorite characters die in Halo 3 and then to have one Chief take another massive L just makes the campaign suck.

The Halo franchise has been my favorite franchise in gaming, and each game with the exception of Halo Wars has had an enjoyable campaign. I really hope 343 brings back Cortana as she was or atleast drops some info in Halo 5 about her return in a Halo 6… Get some Tron Legacy -Yoink- up in here lol. I just want Chief to get the happy ending he deserves.

I am sure 343 had good reason to do it, and I personally am not going to instantly write off a series simply because a character doesn’t come back. It’s their game, let them do what they want with it. As long as they put in the time and effort, I will be happy.
