Cortana in Halo 4

Am I the only one who literally cannot stand Cortana in this game? Cortana’s only job is to aid humans in their intergalactic war, originally against the covenant, yet she becomes insanely selfish. Right when Chief offers to try and find Halsey to try and help the rampancy, she will not shut about about HERSELF being saved. Mind you the entire human race lies in the balance!!! Level 8 “the composer” diadect composes the entire space station, hundreds killed, her first response “they will assign you another AI and get rid of me”… so selfish!!! My goodness, Cortana did her part, she should accept her fate. You don’t hear Master Chief crying about death do ya? It’s his job to risk his life, and when he blew up the nuke we learned he was willing to do anything to save humanity. Wish Cortana wasn’t so selfish and crybaby y in Halo 4. I almost agree with the ship captain who ordered her destruction! It was nice to see Chief stick up for her there though.

Cortana must have become desperate since she became rampant. She’s been active for 8 years and 7 years is the limit of life for an A.I. as she sid in the beggining cutscene of Requiem.
Also, her first words to Chief after Didact composed the human in Composer was something like: “They’re all dead… I could hear their screams.”
Chief: “We need to move.”
Cortana: “These people are gone.” Only after is when she came up with the idea of a new Cortana A.I. It is possible that the Logic Plague has also changed her personality, even if she hasn’t entered in contact with the Domain. So, the Logic Plague and rampancy could lead an A.I. to even insanity.
As for Halsey, you can see in Halo 5 that she has grown an imense hate towards Halsey. It’s possible that the same can be said in Halo 4. Now, while the hate was not visible at all, it’s possible that she was starting to avoid Halsey. BUT, when you’re driving the Warthog to your first Covenant contact in Requiem, Cortana might have reconsidered about it and later says “And that means getting back to Halsey. Soon.”

She was suffering from rampancy an A.I. form of Shizophrenia. She had difficulty controlling herself at times.

It was a sad part of the story imo

Her mind was literally being split into different parts with different personalities due to her rampancy.

she turns bad in halo 5

I thought her story Arc in this game was one of the highlights, an AI with feelings, including being selfish at points just makes her more human and relatable and another reason why her and Chief got so close.
