I am wondering what Cortana said at the end of the campaign trailer.
It sounds like: “I will not allow you to BLARGH!!!”
What does she say, and why is she going nuts?
After thinking seriously about this question, now make up a story what she is going to do when she goes rampant.
“…Leave this Planet”
Why she going nuts? Rampancy, I would imagine or a form of it.
“I will not allow you to leave this planet!”
After 7 years, an A.I. goes rampant. She has been active for 8. She’s going nuts, because it’s her PMS time.
She is going nuts as she is going through what is known as “Rampancy”. Basically, she is at the end of her life cycle and when AI’s reach this time they tend to malfunction and not work properly. This may be the reason why her reactions are so extreme at the end of the video.

In an interview 343 says Cortana’s life span is 7 years, any longer will cause her to go insane.
Basically they are super intelligent computers. Cortana has been living for 8 years. She is thinking herself to death with the vast information she has stored in her.
III-IV-III interactive have lovingly recreated Bungie’s story-line from Halo 3 where Cortana has become Rampantly Robot Insane (RRI) after 7 years of adventures, which originally occurred when she was on holiday with the Gravemind. Even though by the end of Halo 3 she is OK and friends with Master Chef again, in Halo 4 it is time to re-open the Stinky Casket and breathe in Halo Events you already enjoyed, like fighting Elites and Special Creepy Spores.

A monkey stole masterchief’s jetpack and now the planet is going to explode… So… She is screaming at the monkey… But all monkeys aside… She is going insane… Thats basicly all… Like said before she is at the end of the circle of life(i quoted that)…
While the monkey story is more funny, she is either going to “die” or she is going to live forever some way or another.
It be cool if Cortana like mind-melded with John so she can go on through him like Spock did the Vulcan mind-meld with McCoy at the end of Star Trek II The Wrath of Khan.
She may be going crazy, but she still pretty and we don’t know who she is going crazy towards in the trailer.
My take on her Rampancy she will take control of the Prometheans since they are AI creatures and turn them blue. Its shown in that same trailer. I think the Orange ones are controlled by some Forerunner (Didact/Master Builder/ or Medicant Bias) and the Blue ones are Cortana controlled. Just my theory. But obviously shes not gonna let you leave so she has to be up to no good.

To be quite honest… when she said it… I shivered down to my spine.
I knew her rampancy was coming but… I am not prepared for it.

I just hope we don’t meet evil flying space monkeys from the Wizard of Oz dimension.
I really find that to be an interesting side conflict in the story. I’d imagen that she becomes less and less help, and maybe even harmful to the chief and his mission though the campaign. I really hope they find a way around it with forerunner technology; I don’t want to see Cortana die.

I think some time ago, they said John was going to undergo a emotional thingy and something gonna happen to him that will change his Clint Eastwood persona and all that stuff. Some I’m betting something will happen to Cortana that will change John( anyone have any intel if John has a last name?).
Anyone think she was going Crazy at the Ancient Evill? she could be trying to stop it from leaving and killing everyone.

AI’s in general have a lifespan of 7 years.
Cortana’s origins aren’t the same as normal AI’s though.
So who knows whats going to happen.
Personally I’d like to see her meet up with Halsey again.

Would’ve used a “we” in that context then. Teamwork, yknow?
But she is just too darn angry. I don’t think she is a team player anymore…

Ba da boom! Great Scott I’ve got it! Cortana is inevitably going crazy and she knows it, John is not strong enough to stop the Prometheans( Betting the Prometheans are trying to repair the Infinity to leave Requiem and do their business with the universe) so she will try to do the Clint Eastwood Gran Torino Trick (Clint Eastwood was dying in the movie, so he set up this gang of guys to brutally murder him and the gang be sent to jail for a long time). Cortana sacrifices her going crazy self to stop the Prometheans and she leaves John. It all makes sense.
Sounds like my ex wife.
