And what gave you the impression that that would happen? Because it’s not.

It only happened in a couple of missions.

Ok, I don’t see the reasoning for that to return. It was purely there to demonstrate the effect of Chief being detached from Cortana and vice versa. (And the obvious plot point of her being in danger)
Cortana’s going to play a very large role in Halo 4 as stated by 343i many times. We know the relationship between Chief and Cortana is going to be fleshed out very much, they’re not going to rinse and repeat the same visual and sound effects they did in Halo 3 with the example you gave. Theres going to be a lot happening between them two and this time, it’s going (mostly/likely/probably) to be happening in the same place.
That’s not gonna make it back in.
