Maybe this is nothing but maybe not. In the last Halo bulletin there is a Forza Motorsport car with “Halo 5: Guardians art”. In front of Chief’s helmet is a blue face, presumably Cortana. Does this mean something or am I trying to make something out of nothing?
So you’re using art (which you can obviously tell is fan made - hint it says it in the bulletin), on a motor sport vehicle as evidence that a dead character is coming back to life? this is all i have to say.
Well, she may be back in one form or another.
I’m pretty sure we are going to see her in Halo 5.
Dead doesn’t mean that she can’t be there.

She’ll be a McLaren, Roland Prime will be a space truck and BB will turn into a magic 8 ball (no one would ever expect it).
And together they will wage the battle to destroy the evil forces of the Promethacns!
Totally not on topic, but last week I was sitting in on a Microsoft sales pitch at work and they mentioned how they use Cortana as a personal assistant.
I sat there blinking for a few seconds until I remembered it’s the Microsoft version of Apple Siri or Google Voice.
Actually, maybe this is on topic. Making the leap from video game character to OS cornerstone is no small thing. Why would you kill her character off for good when she just graduated to something much, much bigger? I wager she’ll return in Guardians or the next iteration (in some form). Too big a character to kill off for good.

Exactly. Could be in the form of a flashback or an old memory.
I always thought Cortana will be back in Chief’s head as the embodiment of his growing humanity. He would talk with her throughout the campaign and ask her advice, but that would actually be inner conflict. No one else would see her or hear her, but she’d be there in his head.
Obviously, though, he’d have to let her go by the end of Halo 5 and move on in this case. Cortana can’t just keep on existing after being dead. So John will have to let her go and become his own human with his own opinions and choices by the end of the game.
I don’t want to see her ever being alive and real again.
I don’t think we should use a fan-made promotional figure as solid evidence for the return of a character that has been confirmed dead three times.
I think she’ll be back eventually. They said MC and Cortana have important roles in the trilogy…which is now a saga.We’ll have to wait and see.
