So apparently, I’m the books before one of the halo installations was destroyed, the 343 Guilty Spark commandeered a vessel,
and Halo 5’s Legendary ending has a halo ring with Cortana humming the song the the 343 Guilty Spark would hum when it’s on a halo…
I would actually prefer that rather then Cortana being evil.
If so, then Halo 6 could actually be good, hopefully.
That’s interesting, but it wouldn’t really make much sense considering that guilty spark isn’t out for galactic conquest. However this is giving me flashbacks of subspace emissary, which I really don’t want to be having.
I feel like there is more potential for Mendicant Bias to have some role in the building of the AI army than Guilty Spark. But seeing 343’s track record of adding in new Forerunner related Characters, maybe it’s best they stick with tying in Guilty Spark and developing Warden and leaving out Mendicant.
No, she is humming “Olly Olly Oxenfree”
Olly Olly Oxenfree was a “all clear” or “ok” code used by Spartan IIs. It was kept very secret, only Spartan IIs and people very close to the program knew “Olly Olly Oxenfree”'s significance. They mention this in halo 5 if people would actually pay attention. On the mission “Reunion”, mission 7 in halo 5, the 3 terminals you activate all whistle “Olly Olly Oxenfree” when you activate them. Spartan Fred even comments on this when he says something like “How many years has it been since we used that signal?” after you activate the first terminal. Don’t believe me? Turn on subtitles when you activate the terminals, it says “Olly Olly Oxenfree”.
Now the legendary ending, the important thning to note is how many syllables is “Olly Olly Oxenfree”, it’s 7. Cortana’s hum is 7 sylables long and she even hums it in the tune of “Olly Olly Oxenfree”, albeit rather slowly.
What could it all mean? Well “Olly Olly Oxenfree” was used as an “all clear” code. Halo rings were used to “clear” the galaxy of all life. Maybe what you are seeing is the aftermath? She has already fired the rings and she is morbidly humming to herself “all clear”?
On on a side note, 7 was bungies favorite number. Hints the 7 syllables in Olly Olly Oxenfree. Just like the 7th column , 7th on the 7th, 7 steps to world domination, you know. Thought I might just put that in there just for fun
I didn’t get this from anywhere I figured this out all on my own, so I don’t have any go to article or website to point you too. I also seem to be the only person who has figured it out.
Please credit me me or point to this post if anyone asks

That could be guilty spark’s motive now considering he’s rampant, would have some twisted view and would want revenge on humanity or at least MC for destroying his original form.
Frank O’Connor hinted that Spark was his favorite character and said there is a “redemption story arc” planned for him. Honestly they should bring a traditional character back from the original trilogy and Spark seems to be the only one plausible. The new characters are so boring and lackluster. Even Palmer is barely passable.

So maybe Spark helps humanity? He wouldn’t want Cortana squatting on a ring or much less starting one up to fire.

now I know you are talking about the campaign, but aside from that the game is good overall it just needs more content, which 343 is going to add but it is going to take time I just hope everyone sticks around long enough and the community does not die like halo 4s

no, I believe his twisted view is simply allowing Humanity to obtain the mantle at any cost I’d assume as that seems to be his MO in the earlier Halos. you can read here about ONI collecting his remnants: 343 Guilty Spark | Halo Alpha | Fandom
I now think that 343 GS might have obtained or collected a remnant of Cortanas rampancy from fighting the Didact and assumed her identity. He always goes on about Reclaimers and I feel that its more likely that GS assumed the identity of Cortana to hide his true self, and to coax MC into obtaining the Mantle at any cost. It always seemed to be his logic to justify his actions of violence by “helping” MC achieve Reclamation and would make more sense than simply a rampant Cortana

AngryJoe was asking him that self too… But than one question =)… Why does Guilty Spark want Master Chief so badly…? So no… she’s not controlled by Guilty Spark. ITs Cortanna or a part of her.

well if you remember Guilty Spark was known for trying to trick the MC into activating the Halo rings for him and the same thing held for the Ark, except we tricked him which led to a laser to his face. Guilty Spark needs a human to interact with Forerunner tech (things like the index) in order to activate things and he was the only one ever obsessed with humanity Reclaiming the Mantle, namely Master Chief (as he was the only viable candidate in 343 GS mind)

He wanted to activate the rings because he was or is progammed to whenever the flood got out of control… I didnt see the flood in the last 2 games so i dont think its guilty spark.
Cortana has a motive to activate them, because she is not stringed to a protocol. She doesnt need the flood reason.

it wasn’t just about the flood though. He wouldn’t use the word Reclaimer otherwise. just because you haven’t seen the flood doesn’t mean they’re not still around, as they were simply eradicated from our galaxy, they exist/originated from a galaxy very very far out and there are still dormant flood floating around like on the Spirit of Fire. Guilty Spark was the only one ever obsessed with Reclamation and it wouldn’t make sense for Cortana to be on or know of another Halo ring as shown in the legendary ending.
his greatest obstacle was Cortana, and now that she’s gone it would make sense to assume her identity to trick people and hide an ulterior motive

Guilty spark may be in control of Cortana or influencing her, but he would not be able to put on that good of an act. He wouldn’t talk like Cortana did to MC and he wouldn’t have been able to put the emotion Cortana would have in it. Unless he like absorbed her into himself or something.

Huh, I didn’t know that. That’s interesting.
In any event, I find it likely that she’s being influenced by the composed digi-Didact, given the number of times she quotes him. Since he is an AI now, it’s also pretty conspicuous that he appears nowhere in this game’s story.
