Ok first of all I want to make something clear. I dont think thiswthis be a great idea for halo infinite but for the future sequels. As the character have a lot of potential to be used. And maybe this topic is slightly to offtopic to halo Infinite. But I wanted this to be discussed with you guys. So I would like to know your people thoughts of what do you feel like Cortana becoming a human( not in infinite, maybe in the finale). It would be a really great (in my opinion) . Imagine the war has ended for forever. There is no more threats to humanity. Cortana has been brought back to her ‘good’ form. and masterchief retires. During their journey, masterchief and Cortana made a strong chemistry in their bond. And might be loving each other. And somehow , someone manages to turn Cortana into human . And they both (chief and Cortana) settle down with each other and spend their life together. I know ,I expressed my ideas in a very boring, non creative way. Thank you for reading.
I’d drop the series if they did that. Chief and Cortana has a strong bond, but it wasn’t a romantic one and it shouldn’t go that way, especially if that means she becomes a human being. Furthermore, I’d rather not see her “redeemed” after Infinite. Her whole descent into villainy felt like a contrived mess and I’d rather see her defeated and finally be given a send off. Halo 4 should’ve done that but 343 decided to waste that.
I’m already tired of seeing Cortana looking too ‘human’ as it is, I’d rather Cortana go back to looking like an AI in classic Halo in design.

A contrived, logic-plague-fuelled mess.
Wouldn’t make any sense at all. Halsey is the human lol.
They did hint to Cortana being reborn in the flesh near the end of Halo 5 so I wouldn’t find it crazy. However it would be a mess to introduce romance into this just like how the whole Rey/Ben Solo business with Star Wars was awkward.
No…just no
At that point? Yeah, no. Burn it down, salt the earth. We do not need silliness like that in Halo. There’s already enough silliness sometimes without going that far.

I totally agree with your points. But I guess this idea is pretty much practical in the final game ( or the end of cortana’s arc). I mean I can’t see any other way to end chief and cortana’s arc. It’s either they both die for the greater good or they settle for good. And if they finish off Cortana in infinite, I don’t think that the sequels to infinite would be ,say interesting. Chief may lack socializing but Cortana doesn’t. And h4 pretty much gives us the sign that Cortana loves chief (well at least I think so).
I was just thinking about this the other day.
If not human, maybe a life like android that is indistinguishable from a human.
How to make me hate a franchise I’ve loved for over a decade in one easy step, OP!
I just feel like it would be weird honestly idk but that’s what I think
I’ve never understood the Cortana and Chief romance thing. They have never once pointed to a romantic involvement between them in the series. They have had emotional moments where we can see a strong bond between them, but never once did that seem anything but a strong friendship or partnership.
I’ve honestly thought of Cortana as an older sister to chief, always teasing him and teaching him how to treat girls well. But she has her own emotional problems that Chief helps her deal with in his innocent understand of emotions. (innocent because he’s basically a 6 year old in power armour)
I think it’s more likely that we find out Cortana was just a front to manipulate Chief/humanity, just as the Gravemind did in Halo 3. It’s really the flood/precursors behind the whole thing. “Cortana” assimilated all the AI into one mass (the domain) just as the flood do with physical organisms.
At some point in the game, she’ll reveal herself to be controlled by a physical form (somewhere on the ring) which looks like a fleshy, Lovecraftian beast.
I want to see some serious (body) horror if the flood return in Halo Infinite

I like this idea! Bring back the flood and the M rating! However, that might be tough to do narratively in a spiritual reboot. Maybe down the line.
If they did even something remotely close to that I would drop the whole halo franchise in a second. Cortana turning human shouldn’t even be possible to begin with and if they did that well then we might as well throw everything out the window in my opinion. (I might be coming on a bit harsh and for that I am sorry) I never liked the idea of Cortana and Chief being romantic involved with each other, like thats just weird to have an A.I and a living human being “in love”.
That almost seems to me like meta stability. This was one of the final stages of an A.I. in the RvB series, a stage were an A.I. would be considered human. And it looks like Cortana might be reaching that stage already.

There’s other kinds of love beyond romantic though, like how you’d love a family member for example. Cortana’s love for John isn’t any different than Halsey’s.
The whole dead hero resurrected into a villain is cliche. But there’s a sliver of belief that 343’s original plan with the Didact to be the main bad guy still holds. There’s a line spoken by Cortana in the final mission of Halo 5 where you have to defend the area against the Prometheans until Witness can get the elevator working, that was spoken by the Didact, quoted from the Forerunner Trilogy books word for word.
Only the Didact knew said words, Cortana wouldn’t have at all. So… yeah…
