In a thread from awhile ago, another user and I discussed how the show WandaVision depicted two advanced AIs debating with one another. The scene is actually really interesting, and it makes me wonder if we’re going to see something similar ‘go down’ between the original Cortana and the Weapon.
To provide some context to those who haven’t seen WV, Westview Vision (the colorful one) is a creation made by the show’s other protagonist. He resembles the original Vision in both appearance and personality, but has no shared memories with him. White Vision is the reanimated body of the original AI, who’s dead. Although he doesn’t have access to his predecessor’s memories at the start of the scene, they’re brought back by Westview Vision by the end.
I feel like this scene is actually set up similar to what we might see in Halo Infinite. On one hand, you have the original Cortana. Unlike white Vision, she still has access to all her past memories… but she still has a cold personality. The Weapon, on the other hand, is a creation that resembles Cortana. Despite having a similar appearance to Chief’s former AI companion, she doesn’t seem to share any memories with the OG or Dr. Halsey.
See the similarities now? That’s why I think we might see a debate between Cortana and the Weapon at some point. Cortana has most likely not been killed off, and think it’d make for a very interesting dynamic between the two AIs. In fact, I think it’d be a huge wasted opportunity to not have them interact. Thoughts?
