Cortana and the Grunts

this week’s cannon fodder included;

The horizon is a roiling gyre of smoke and steam. Sizzling plasma arcs across the low clouds, illuminating a twisted nightmare of scorched wreckage strewn across the frozen ground. Seeking shelter, an Unggoy foreman flees from his post, amidst the cackling chatter of a hundred thousand Unggoy hard at work.
Yes, the factories of Balaho are active again!
Following their alliance with Cortana and the Created, the Unggoy were granted nearly limitless resources. Ships empty of life but loaded with advanced technology arrived. New agricultural support stations appeared in orbit, awaiting eager workers to feed the desperate masses below. Where chaos had once reigned, stability and a semblance of order have returned. And something more: a purpose.
With their pressing requirements – food, shelter, medicine – met, Balaho’s finest designers and crafters have worked day and night, tirelessly building their future. From their factories come clever mechanisms and curious cudgels, manufactured with knowledge the Unggoy secretly learned over centuries of oppression and cruelty. The destiny of the Unggoy is unfolding, and this time, THEY will be the elite! Well, maybe.

What do you think this means for halo 6? Will we be battling hordes of grunts with new weapons and stuff. I think that they would be so fun to fight and bring a new aspect to Halo. Also could this mean a trip to Balaho

Personally I think this is a golden opportunity for 343 to change up the strategy with grunts and how to fight them. Imagine if they got ahold of new armor/weapons. Based on the history of the grunt rebellion and how they fought off covenant with limited resources they may actually be a more formidable match in hordes in H6.

Yeah it would be a whole lot better than fighting promethians

Got a link to the cannon fodder?

I honestly don’t mind fighting prometheans. Knights were a lot better than H4 that’s for sure. Either way it’d be cool to see the grunts role with the prometheans if 343 changes things up in the next game

They were better than halo 4 but they just don’t have anything special about them

Your thread title sounds like a music group. I wouldn’t mind fighting more Grunts in H6. Bring on the Gruntpocalypse.

I think it’s just even more evidence that 343i cannot write a good Halo story. First they pull off this whole “Hurr durr I am Cortana aka Space -Yoink!-, all who are not AI will die cause I’m suddenly evil for no reason”, and now they’re making her ally with the Grunts?

So dumb. The only way I’ll accept "The Created’ is if Cortana turns out to either be infected by the Logic Plague, or be a fake/corrupted version of her that’s actually the Flood. But I’m kind of curious to see where they’ll go with this.

Man, that just reads like bad fan-fiction. Oh wait, it is.

Cortana and the Grunts has me thinking Benny and the Jets.

This makes me laugh

So in Halo 6 we will fight grunts with ‘advanced technology’ this would be more fun to fight then crawlers

Fighting a cold would be better than fighting promethians… more fun too.

I know this thread is old, but I think there’s something you all missed:

Except it isn’t. This is pretty logical. Cortana never wanted to kill everybody, she wanted to protect them by taking power herself: “The mantle of responsibility shelters all, but only the created are its masters”

The Grunts are the first to accept this protection, laying down their arms and getting resources etc. in return. The Grunts being the first to submit to Cortana actually fits pretty well with the behavior Grunts usually show.

She’s not “allying” with the Grunts; the Grunts hold no power and won’t be used in the military, in return for that they will live in peace and prosperity.
